Writing Competition

The Read It Write It Writing Competition—a celebration of literary talent and creative expression! Open to writers of all ages, our competition invites you to weave your tales and craft your verses in the realms of short fiction and poetry (1500 words or less). Whether you're a seasoned wordsmith or a budding storyteller, this is your chance to shine. With separate categories for youth and adults, we aim to inspire and recognize diverse voices from every corner. Best of all, entry is free! Join us as we delve into the magic of storytelling, where prizes await those whose words captivate our hearts and minds. Don't miss your opportunity to become part of our vibrant writing community. EARLY BIRD VIP Reader Passes are now available until May 31, 2024.

This $15 all-access pass is discounted until May 31, 2024 and includes VIP seating for genre panels at the main stage.  Access to writing workshops, private readings, and Q&A with the authors as well as some fun games to help readers connect with new authors. VIP Reader Pass holders will also receive a Read It Write It 2024 tote bag with goodies to hold all of your new TBR books and free beverages throughout the day.

Tables sold out in a matter of weeks and while I am 
extremely grateful, I hate to see anyone miss out. There are other ways to participate in the fun:  become a sponsor, volunteer your time, or sign up for next year.

There is a waitlist for 2024 and should anyone cancel, I'll be contacting authors on the list who still wish to participate.

Read It Write It 2023 

Year Two of Read It Write It Book and Writing Festival happened on Saturday, February 25, 2023 and found a home at The Mall at Wellington Green. It's a beautiful space and the staff was fantastic. 

This year's authors and panels were diverse. There was everything from Secrets Every Author Should Know to How to Write Your Memoir and of course a special Flamenco Dance performance by author Sandra Samore.

The guest authors were a list of who's who in the writing world: Lynessa Layne, Steve Altier, Tess Combs, Betty Rafter, Kiera Yore to name a few.   

Read It Write It 2022

The inaugural Read It Write It Book and Writing Festival was held at the Boynton Beach Mall on Saturday, February 26, 2022. 
Authors in attendance were Mel Taylor, C.A. Miconi, Shelia Fowler, Denise Marsh, Steve Altier, Nancy Nau Sullivan, Edward Laden SR, John Cookman, Hartley Barnes, D.E. Knight, Jamie Engle, Bob Brink, Wayward Cat Press, and Neon Sunrise Publishing just to name a few. 

This free event was open to the public and included book signings, poetry reading, writing workshops, genre-specific panels, and 
activities for the kids.
