With probably the most exciting game played in years at the IPC, Park Place defeated Scone 11-10 in overtime to take the 2021 C.V. Whitney Cup, the first leg of the Gauntlet of Polo.

After trailing most of the game, 10 goaler, Hilario Ulloa scored to send the game into overtime with 14 seconds left in regulation time.

Jack Whitman, the game’s MVP scored the winning goal.

The Gauntlet of Polo is a three event competition awarding the team that wins all three an additional bonus of $500,000 at the conclusion of the US Open.

As of now, Park Place is the only team eligible to get the bonus.
