After running a contest on her Mom’s Club of Wellington Facebook page, founder Aimee Stern had randomly chosen Sal & Sav Forbes as the winners of the holiday spirit contest.
The contest encouraged members to nominate a family that needed some holiday cheer. Sal & Sav Forbes were nominated by Talley Crownover MacIntosh. The Forbes family have been fostering medically fragile children that need continuous care. In addition to their 3 biological children and one adopted child they have cared for over 70 foster children in the last 19 years. Currently the family has foster children including one of which has been in the ICU for several weeks leaving Sav to spend her time running between her home in Loxahatchee and Joe Dimaggio Children’s hospital. Sal works from home and cares for the children when Sav is caring for those children who are hospitalized. They are truly an incredible family who feel it’s been their calling to care for those children that need special medical attention.
Premier Family Health generously donated a 7ft artificial tree fully decked out with lights and ornaments. Simon Electric owners Dina & Raphael Simon had generously donated their time and staff of 19 to decorate the outside of the Forbes home with a breathtaking display.
Starting at 1:00 on December 8th (after mapping out the home days before) the Simon electric team worked tirelessly to deck out the Forbes home. At 6:15 friends and family were treated to the big reveal when the house was fully lit. The Forbes family was beyond appreciative and was completely speechless when the Dina & Raphael Simon presented them with a check to cover the holiday light electric bill.
It’s been an incredible experience to witness the community come together to help a family in need. So many families can now enjoy the beautifully decorated home through the New Year. It truly will be a very Merry Christmas for the Forbes family.
