Chemradery. It’s not a word in the English dictionary, but it might very well make it there if this band has anything to say about it. Led by vocalist Gregory Scot Dyer, and guitarist Ivan Alexander, Chemradery came about when two innovative minds merged their passion for music together, to create a sound that would not only inspire, but leave a lasting impression; on themselves and the listener. Melodic verses and choruses; simplistic, yet memorable lyrics about the positives and negatives of everyday life, and tasteful instrumentation that tie it all together. The fellowship, interaction, and common bond of everyday people, whose sole purpose is to tell a story through their music; a story that you can’t stop reading. That is Chemradery.

Fright Nights Turns Sweet 16 in 2017

Fright Nights Turns Sweet 16 in 2017

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — This year marks the 16th anniversary of Fright Nights at the South Florida Fairgrounds and planning is already underway for the event, which opens Fri., Oct. 6, and continues every Thursday, Friday and Saturday through Oct. 28.

Fright Nights started in a tent on the fairgrounds in 2002, was joined by “The Manor” haunters from Clematis in 2003, and eventually grew into the 40,000 square foot Agriplex and two acres of land on the fairgrounds, where it resides today.

Over the years, Fright Nights has evolved into a carnival of terror that offers four new haunted houses each year. In addition, the event includes scare zones, food, entertainment and midway carnival rides, which makes Fright Nights the largest “Scream Park” in West Palm Beach.

This year’s haunts will include the Cuckoo’s Nest, where twisted patients have taken over the asylum; Shutter, a demented look through a killer’s lens; Necromantia, a sadistic alchemist practicing the forbidden dark art of necromancy; and Occultus, entering the mysterious world of the occult, where witches and shamans practice their craft — on those brave enough to enter!

For more information on Fright Nights Sweet 16, and to get discounted tickets and other offers, visit the event’s website, www.myfrightnights.com, or follow the event on Facebook, www.facebook.com/FrightnightsSFF.

LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS TEAM-UP FOR VOLUNTEER MISSION TRIP BRINGING NEEDED PROGRAMS AND SUPPLIES TO REMOTE VILLAGES IN KENYA

LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS TEAM-UP FOR VOLUNTEER MISSION TRIP BRINGING NEEDED PROGRAMS AND SUPPLIES TO REMOTE VILLAGES IN KENYA

Wellington, FL – Two local organizations, Dream Sponsors, Inc. and The Essence of Africa, Inc. will join forces with North Carolina based non-profit, One Way Out, Inc. for a volunteer mission trip offering services and delivery of much needed supplies to members of several remote African villages located in Kenya this October. Last summer Emmanuel Tasur, the founder of Sirua Aulo Academy, based in Masa Mara, Kenya, was hosted here in Wellington, by the Dream Sponsors team. Sirua Aulo, the #1 school in the district, has nearly 650 youth enrolled between the primary school and high school. Most of these youth come from rural villages and live in extreme poverty. Education is their only hope of a better life. Many youth live in dorms on campus while others walk in excess of 3 to 5 miles each way to get to school. Emmanuel is in need of support to help raise the quality of life and the nutritional diet for these children. Currently, the school can only afford to provide very minimal food options, with limited choices.

Over the years, Dream Sponsors, Inc. has seen the need to advance their mission to sponsor more self-sustaining projects that benefit a larger number of youth, as opposed to just sponsoring one individual child’s school fees, through individual sponsorships matched with youth in need.
Dream Sponsors, Inc. is seeking donations to initiate a Poultry Farming Project to be housed on the Sirua Aulo High School Campus. The Project budget will include construction of a structure and fencing to contain the chickens, purchase of chickens, start-up feed and instructional materials for the students. The project will cost about $6000 USD total. We believe this is a quality project that will not only benefit the youth at the campus, but also serve the local community. This self-sustaining project will provide eggs for the student meals, while also contributing to a farming curriculum at the high
school. This new project will also provide youth with the means to participate in hands on learning about agricultural farming practices. Further they will learn business skills by marketing and selling eggs in the local Maasai Community.

The team hopes to raise the start-up funds prior to this volunteer visit, so they can personally participate in the launch of this project while in the region. Donations are also being accepted to help with transportation costs for delivery of supplies. The Group is bringing paper, pencils and notebooks for the orphans and village children who attend schools where water and electricity are non-existent; socks and sweaters for the women during cooler temperatures; and baseball type hats for the men to protect them from the sun. Donations will also help support the hiring of a Kenyan-based photographer
to document their journey and share the stories of the Maasai women, men and children. The images will be used for educational purposes with our local schools here in the US, providing valuable cultural learning opportunities.
If you are interested in supporting this volunteer mission, please contact Carla B. Neumann, MS, LMFT, Founder and President of Dream Sponsors, Inc. at (561) 795-2223, or visit the GO FUND ME page: Africa Girls! Eau Palm Beach Resort and Spa Names David Viviano Executive Chef

DAVID VIVIANO APPOINTED EXECUTIVE CHEF AT EAU PALM BEACH RESORT & SPA

Leading Culinary Talent Tapped To Direct Dining Operations at Award Winning Luxury Resort

PALM BEACH, Fla. (August 1, 2017)— Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa, a AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five-Star resort has appointed David Viviano Executive Chef. A seasoned culinarian with more than 20 years’ experience that spans independent fine dining restaurants and luxury hotels, Chef Viviano will oversee all culinary operations of the oceanfront property including fine dining room Angle, alfresco eatery Breeze Ocean Kitchen, Temple Orange Mediterranean Bistro, Stir Bar & Lounge, in-room dining and social events.

“The breadth of David’s expertise made him a natural fit as we continue to further evolve our dining experiences to anticipate the changing desires of our guests,” said Cindy Racco, general manager of Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa. “His knowledge, passion for people and the art of culinary are a perfect combination for the deeply personal standards of excellence that drives all of us at Eau Palm Beach.”

Most recently, Chef Viviano served as executive chef at Montage Kapalua Bay in Maui. There, he led a team of more than 40 associates, managing all culinary operations across the luxury resort including menu creation and kitchen operations for signature restaurant Cane & Canoe. During his tenure, the oceanfront property was awarded the Forbes Five-Star designation and Cane & Canoe, the Forbes Four-Star designation for two years running.

Previous to that, Chef Viviano held the unique title of CheF&B at the St. Regis Aspen Resort & Spa, where he oversaw all culinary operations and a team of more than 70 professionals. His shrewd management of the multi-million dollar budget resulted in the second highest food and beverage profit margin in the resort’s history. He also designed and implemented a successful sustainability program, composting 6,000 pounds per week, the largest in the area. Additionally, Viviano drove the re-conception of the resort’s three-meal-a-day restaurant to traditional Italian, acted as host chef of the renowned Food & Wine Classic in Aspen and took home the gold in 2014 as the winner of the Aspen Mac & Cheese Festival.

Throughout his career, Chef Viviano served in various hotels within the Westin Hotels & Resorts portfolio including the Westin Phoenix Downtown and the Westin Book Cadillac, as well as positions at the St. Regis Princeville and the Ritz-Carlton Dearborn. He also holds experience in high-end restaurants, having worked in the kitchen of San Francisco’s critically acclaimed Jardinière.

Chef Viviano’s journey to the culinary world came through an unconventional route, as he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio. He is passionate about writing and after realizing his true calling was to be a Chef, he expertly melded his two skills together through penning culinary-focused stories in a multitude of lifestyle publications. He also has a passion for teaching and was once named Mentor of the Year by Dearborn High School in his native Michigan. In his downtime he enjoys cooking at home, surfing and traveling with his wife Christina and sons, Dean & Leo.

Aesop’s Tables artist to give lesson to art students from Seagull Services

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. Aug. 1, 2017 – A very special art lesson will take place on Monday, Aug. 7th at Aesop’s Tables on the waterfront. That morning, local artist Mayling Pao will give a lesson to adult art students from Seagull Services at the table she painted to benefit Seagull, a non-profit that provides advocacy and training to youth and adults with developmental disabilities.

“We’re very excited to be a part of Aesop’s Tables and grateful that Mayling will be donating her time to work with a group of our program participants who enjoy art classes,” said Barbara Nurenberg, President and CEO of Seagull Services. “Art is a regular part of skill-building at Seagull Services, and we believe this is the kind of community engagement the City of West Palm Beach envisioned when they created Aesop’s Tables.”

The group will gather at 10:30 a.m. to tour all 25 of the tables and have their art lesson at “The Raven and the Swan,” the table Pao painted to benefit Seagull. It is one of 25 colorful tables painted by local professional artists with a depiction of Aesop’s Fables for West Palm Beach’s third annual Summer In Paradise event. On Aug. 31, the tables will be auctioned on the waterfront, and the proceeds from each will go to its non-profit partner.

“I love the idea of an art lesson at Aesop’s Tables,” Pao said. “I teach art classes regularly, and I’m looking forward to seeing how my art influences Seagull’s art students,”
