Friday Night Adult Costume Contests

Brogue’s Down Under/Fiorentina’s/Hookah House

The Cottage/South shore Tavern

Friday October 28 from 8PM to Midnight

 

Halloween in downtown Lake Worth will be a two day Party of Family, Fantasy, Fright and Fun.  The entire town will participate with candy, contests, concerts and costumes.  Events will take place on Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29.  All events are free to the public. 

Friday evening, the 3rd Friday Evening on the Avenue of the month, will be packed with costumed revelers going from restaurant to restaurant scoping out the best adult costume contests and the biggest prizes.   The listed times are when prizes will be awarded.  Each of the venues will be partying all night and invite you to come and go, or come and stay all evening.

If you put off getting your costume, stop first at Theatrics, 705 Lake Avenue, for some seriously Funky Stuff.  Give yourself plenty of time to deck yourself out before starting off on your costume rounds.  Proprietor Angel Wrona will fulfill your most outrageous costumed fantasy. Fully clad for the event, begin your Halloween trek and prize quest through the streets of Lake Worth.

The Grown-up fun starts at Brogue’s Down Under & Aussie Boomerang Bar, 621 Lake Avenue, at 8:00 PM, the first adult costume contest of the evening.  A handsome pub filled with tapestry-covered seats at the booths, lively front and back bars, TVs, lots of dark woods, fieldstone, and high ceilings, it is the ideal setting for an eerie Halloween party.  Between nibbles of their fine food, the pool table, darts, sports on the screens, rousing music, ice cold beer on tap and by the bottle, is the fun atmosphere needed for any downtown Lake Worth holiday fun.

Off to Fiorentina’s, 707 Lake Avenue, at 9:00 PM for your second try at winning a prize for the best Halloween Costume of the evening.  A wonderful restaurant in downtown Lake Worth, the food is excellent, not run of the mill, Italian. Atmosphere is modern yet cozy, intimate yet jovial. They are gearing up for a special Halloween evening and looking forward to judging wild and original costumes.  (Prizes?)

The Hookah House, 802 Lake Avenue, is your next stop at 9:30 PM as you wend your way through Lake Worth’s adult Trick or Treat evening of costume contests, fine food and drink.  This is a great place for people that like to relax and smoke hookah. It’s a real hookah house with music and games for you to play.  The inside looks like a modern version of a Genie Bottle it’s very cozy with lots of pillows, an ideal stop for a Halloween illusionary experience.

        Igot’s Martiki Bar, 702 Lake Avenue, jumps into the Halloween Costume action at 10:00 PM. An upscale bar, it has big open windows throughout and a surf town theme. The drinks are generous, the prices are not too bad and easily one of the cheapest places to have some drinks in downtown Lake Worth. They have live bands on Friday and Saturday nights. Halloween. Igot’s is awarding $100 for the most original costume and $100 for the sexiest.

 

Havana Hideout, 509 Lake Avenue, ? 10:30?

Time to leave Lake Avenue and head over to Lucerne for The Cottage, 522 Lucerne for some serious partying and dancing.  Make sure your costume is up to the task. Costume contest will be at 11:00 PM. The Cottage is a fabulous outside place to gather in Lake Worth. especially for light fare and drinks. The outdoors setting is perfect for a Halloween Party and celebration.   (Prizes?)

South Shores Tavern, 502 Lucerne Avenue,  is a local’s bar with a very talented chef.   The delicious meal will bring you back for more. They will be holding their Costume Contest at Midnight  with 3 prizes  ( in South Shores gift certificates) Grand Prize Best Costume $100.00 Second Place $50.00 and Third Place $25.00.   Band -Black Finger 8p-Midnight and Karaoke with Voo Doo Dave inside the tavern 9 PM-1AM.  Complimentary Trick or Treat Shots for everyone in costume.  No Cover Charge 

The Downtown Cultural Alliance (DCA) is a non-profit association of Downtown merchants and residents working together to keep Downtown Lake Worth vibrant and welcoming.  The DCA is working the Lake Worth CRA and LULA, the City of Lake Worth and the Lake Worth Chamber of Commerce to coordinate Evenings on the Avenue, the Second Saturday Sidewalk Sales, all Holiday Events and special events.
