Karate Instructor Competes Internationally
Santa Ana, California February 23-24, 2014: Sensei Keith Moore, Chief Instructor at Genbu-Kai Karate in Wellington, traveled to Santa Ana, California to compete in the 43rd Annual Goodwill Championships. Sensei Moore participated, and assisted teaching, seminars conducted by world recognized instructors in Karate, Kobudo (Okinawan weapons), and Batto (Japanese sword). The two day competition comprised of more than five-hundred competitors total, from all around the world including the US, Canada and Mexico. All competitions were held at the Costa Mesa High School.
Sensei Moore competed in Batto kata (form), tameshigiri (cutting), 3 person team tameshigiri, Dodan-giri (vertical cutting), and Haya-Waza giri (advanced specialized cutting). Sensei Moore placed in all 5 divisions capturing 3rd in Haya-waza giri, 3rd in Dodan-giri, 4th in black belt kata, individual cutting and team cutting.
