2012 Obie Award Winner and Pulitzer Prize Finalist        

4000 Miles by Amy Herzog

April 10, 2014– The Lake Worth Playhouse resumes its Black Box Series with 4000 Miles a new, award winning drama from Pulitzer by Amy Herzog.

Synopsis:

After suffering a traumatic event while on a cross-country bike trip, young Leo seeks solace from his feisty grandmother Vera in her WestVillage apartment. Over the course of a single month, these unlikely roommates infuriate, bewilder, and ultimately reach each other. 4000 Miles looks at how two outsiders find their way in today’s world.

History:

4000 Miles first opened at The Duke Theater in New York City on June 20, 2011, presented by Lincoln Center Theatre/LTC3, as a Steinberg New Works Program production, under the direction of Andre Bishop and Bernard Gersten, and Paige Evans, LCT3 Artistic Director.

The play won the 2012 Obie Award for Best New Play as well as Time Magazine’s #1 Play or Musical of 2012. Amy Herzog won the 2012 New York Times Outstanding Playwright Award and the play was a finalist for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Lake Worth Playhouse Stonzek Studio Theater is located at 713 Lake Ave in Downtown Lake Worth. 2 doors east of the Playhouse marquee. Valet Parking is available for $5. Street and lot parking is also available.
