JUNIOR LEAGUE OF THE PALM BEACHES, INC.

The Junior League of the Palm Beaches Accepting Applications from Local Agencies Benefiting the Foster Care System

Palm Beach County – The Junior League of the Palm Beaches is looking for local agencies in Palm Beach County that are in need of programming support or have volunteer opportunities that benefit the children and young adults in the foster care system.

In early 2014, following a year of research and analysis, our membership of over 750 women selected the issue of children and young adults in the foster care system as our focus for community impact over the next several years. When talking about this newly adopted focus area, President Ashley Schutz said, “The Junior League is currently concentrating the majority of its volunteer and financial resources on initiatives that center around foster care in Palm Beach County, in an effort to create positive change around this critical population.”

The following areas of assistance and their respective application deadlines are listed below:

  • Ongoing Community Program: Junior League members will develop, fund, and execute an ongoing program for an organization using our trained volunteers, with a focus on measurable outcomes and sustainable results. Applications are due December 1, 2014.
  • Done-in-a-Day: The Junior League of the Palm Beaches will provide trained volunteers and related funding for short-term, hands-on assistance for projects that are typically completed in one or two days. Applications will be accepted throughout the year.
  • Mini-Grants: For organizations with a need that solely requires funding, the Junior League of the Palm Beaches awards mini grants in amounts up to $3,500.  Applications are due March 1, 2015.

To learn more about each of these opportunities, we invite prospective agencies to download the appropriate application from our website at www.jlpb.org/request-support. Proposals will be evaluated according to the criteria provided in each application.
