“The annual Spring Plant Sale at Mounts is a favorite, not-to-be-missed weekend event for both members and visitors, and this year will be bigger and better than ever, including several special horticultural presentations and workshops throughout the weekend by experts in their fields,” promises the Garden’s Interim Co-DirectorMisty Stoller.
Whether one is an avid gardener or a budding beginner, the Mounts Spring Plant Sale offers something for everyone from 70+ sought-after growers and vendors. Visitors can shop for a wide variety of ornamentals, orchids, succulents, aroids, cactus, bonsai, butterfly/native plants, hoyas, shrubs, fruit and flowering trees, herbs, garden accessories, and much more.
In addition, visitors can learn about South Florida’s plant culture by speaking directly with growers, additional horticultural ‘must-haves’ and unique treasures for the home and garden are available in the Garden’s Nursery and Vintage Thrift Shop, and food and dessert trucks will be at Mounts both days.
Mounts will also be offering a 20% OFF discount on Gift Shop Merchandise on April 27 and 28.

Professional landscape designer, horticulturist and published garden writer Victor Lazzari will discuss the world’s most popular garden flower, debunking myths and mysteries, and demonstrating that—with a little careful planning—it is surprisingly easy to grow beautiful, healthy roses in our part of the country. Proper horticultural practices, troubleshooting common pests, and his own vetted “Top 10 List” of the best roses for South Florida gardens will all be included in this exciting discussion with the author of 100 Roses for the South Florida Garden.

Nature Inside: Houseplants Made Easy

“Whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned ‘plant parent,’ growing indoor houseplants is a fun, affordable, and satisfying way to add life and style to every room of your home,” declares presenter Mike Kane, a certified Florida Master Gardener at Mounts since 2012 who founded Palm Beach Farmyards, a nonprofit urban farming and edible landscaping company, and opened The Garden Shoppe in downtown West Palm Beach in 2019. Kane believes that a green thumb is not something you are born with, but something that can be learned and practiced.

The Conrad-Sunrise Chapter of the American Hibiscus Society – Hibiscus Show & Sale
American Hibiscus Society members and hibiscus enthusiasts throughout Florida will bring hundreds of tropical hibiscus blooms of many varieties to be displayed and judged on Saturday morning. Visitors will have the opportunity to view all the beautiful flowers throughout both days.

ORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN EXHIBIT
The monumental ORIGAMI IN THE GARDEN exhibit now on display at Mounts Botanical features 20 larger-than-life sculptures merging art and nature. From traditional soaring cranes and gliding planes, to galloping ponies, emerging butterflies, and even boats, artist Kevin Box takes origami to another level, transforming traditional Japanese topics into museum-quality metal sculptures. Created by Santa Fe artists Jennifer and Kevin Box, the exhibit features Kevin Box’s own compositions, as well as collaborations with world-renowned origami artists Robert J. Lang, Te Jui Fu, Beth Johnson and Michael G. LaFosse.
