12th Annual Sweet Corn Fiesta Is Cobs of Fun!
WEST PALM BEACH, FL – Roasted or boiled, with or without butter, the sweetest corn is grown right here in Palm Beach County ; 30,000 acres worth. Be sure to find out for yourself at the 12th Annual Sweet Corn Fiesta at historic Yesteryear Village on the South Florida Fairgrounds on Sunday, April 29. Fun for the entire family, the event also features Major League Eating & International Federation of Competitive Eaters (as seen on ESPN) gnawing for a $2,000 top prize and an Amateur Corn Eating Contest for a $100 prize.
Children games, rides, food and live music fill up an entertaining day (11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.). An old-fashioned bathing suit competition, Sweet Corn shucking and kids’ contests get underway at 1:00 P.M. Then, the featured national eating competition takes the stage as participants gobble as much Sweet Corn as they can. “Crazy Legs” Conti is defending corn eating champ. Last year he consumed 33.5 ears of corn in 12 minutes. The challenge typically launches the competitive eating season.
