Customer Service Going High Tech at Wellington’s City Hall

 

If you’ve dropped by Wellington’s City Hall lately to apply for a permit or pay a water bill, get ready for a high tech improvement designed to reduce your wait time. Beginning Monday, April 9th, people visiting customer service will be able to sign in at an electronic touchscreen kiosk similar to systems used in some doctor’s offices and airports. Customers will be able to select their desired service, and an electronic ticket will be issued. At that point, customers are invited to be seated comfortably in Wellington’s lobby area until a customer service representative is available.

 

This technology will give customer service managers the ability to monitor lobby services and wait times so they can adjust staff resources as needed. The system will also provide valuable service data that will allow for improved customer communication and appropriate staffing during high service volume periods.
