YWCA’s Tea and Roses

The YWCA of Palm Beach County will celebrate 95 years of service to the community by hosting “Tea and Roses” to be held Wednesday, May 9, 2012, 2:30 p.m., at the Chesterfield Hotel, 363 Cocoanut Row, Palm Beach.

Upon arrival, guests will enjoy a Champagne reception followed by a Chinese auction and a classic afternoon tea with entertainment.

“We are so excited to part of this lovely event,” said Co-Chairwoman Margaret Pearson, speaking on behalf of the other Chairs, Paula Wittmann and Joan Yanow.  “The YWCA does so much to assist the women and children of the community; it’s important that we support them,” she added.

To further commemorate its 95th anniversary, the YWCA has commissioned Boehm Porcelain to handcraft a special porcelain rose in persimmon orange, the signature color of the YWCA.  The rose, created in two sizes, will be available for sale at the event.

Proceeds from the tea will support the programs of the YWCA including the Mary Rubloff YWCA Harmony House, a shelter for abused women and their children; two Child Development Centers; transitional housing for women; Y-Girls, a leadership and mentoring program for girls ages 8-13; and a racial justice initiative.

Tickets are $75. For more information or to make your reservation, please contact the YWCA, 561-640-0050, ext. 134.
