“Romantics at the Kravis”
PALM BEACH, FL (March 17, 2014) – Bringing together three composers of the Romantic Period, this performance begins with Berlioz’ postcard from sunny Italy, the Roman Carnival Overture, followed by Sibelius’ melody, one of Finland’s favorite patriotic anthems and Grieg’s two orchestral suites, scores that remain the most recognizable calling cards of Scandinavia’s first great composer. The 40th Anniversary performance culminates with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, a treatise on fate and faith, giving a grandiose conclusion to the Season.
