Plaza Theatre Presents A Tribute To Andrew Lloyd Webber With Music of the Night April 24 – May 11
MANALAPAN (April 8, 2014) He has created some of the most recognizable Broadway music of all time—from CATS to EVITA to The PHANTOM OF THE OPERA—along the way collecting a variety of honors, including knighthood, seven Tony Awards, three Grammy Awards, an Academy Award and the Kennedy Center Honors Award. Audiences are invited to celebrate the best of Andrew Lloyd Webber from April 24 through May 11 at the Plaza Theatre, during Music of the Night – a tribute of songs from his most-beloved productions. This will be a cabaret-style show.
Beginning with his studies at age 17 at the Royal College of Music, Andrew Lloyd Webber was considered a “child prodigy” of composing and, at the same age, he was contacted by Tim Rice, who at the time was writing pop lyrics. The pair joined up and together created some of the most lasting, long-running musicals of the 20th and 21st Centuries. Featuring music from PHANTOM, CATS, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, EVITA, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, SUNSET BOULEVARD and many more, Music of the Night takes theatergoers on a magical journey through the legacy of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Starring Wayne LeGette, Laura Hodos, and Ann Marie Olsen. Directed by Amy London. Music direction by Mark Galsky.
