Supporters will gather at The Breakers on Dec. 12 to raise funds for seniors in Palm Beach County

(PALM BEACH, Fla.) —Widely regarded as an icon in the worlds of theater and music, superstar artist Audra McDonald will headline MorseLife Health System’s 42nd Birthday Celebration on Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. at The Breakers.  The annual evening raises critical funds for seniors across Palm Beach County.

With six Tonys, two Grammys and an Emmy to her name, McDonald is one of the most celebrated performers of her generation. She is the only artist to win Tony Awards in all four acting categories. Her acclaimed stage work – including “Carousel,” “Master Class,” “Ragtime,” “A Raisin in the Sun,” “Porgy and Bess” and “Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill” – is matched by a wide-ranging concert career and notable screen roles, most recently in HBO’s “The Gilded Age.” McDonald brings a singular blend of artistry, power and warmth that makes every appearance unforgettable.

“Audra is a record-breaking, six-time Tony Award winner who was recently nominated for the eleventh time for her portrayal as ‘Mama Rose’ in ‘Gypsy,’ hence this year’s theme, ‘Everything’s Coming Up Roses,’ said Ashley Robinson, Vice President of Events at MorseLife Health System. “We hope her star-power will entice donors and friends of MorseLife to join us in honoring the seniors who are at the heart of everything we do. Each year, we challenge ourselves with trying to find the best talent, because our Birthday Celebration is our chance to celebrate and thank our loyal donors who have a shared passion for helping the seniors in our care.”

For over 40 years, MorseLife Health System has delivered an integrated model of residences, health care and services designed to optimize and reaffirm life for older adults at every stage. Touching the lives of over 3,600 seniors each day, MorseLife programs include Independent and Assisted Living, Short-Term Rehabilitation, Long-Term Care, Memory Care, Home Health Care, and Hospice and Palliative Care.
