DETAILS: The Palm Beach County Convention Center will once again host the West Palm Beach
location for the 19th Annual Community Back to School Bash. Local organizations, including the Junior
League of the Palm Beaches, Inc., are pleased to support the cause by providing more than 100
volunteers for the event.
The Community Back to School Bash is a not-for profit organization, which serves more than 10,000 kids
from pre-K through 12th grade in Palm Beach County with school supplies, backpacks, clothes and even
a haircut to help build a sense of preparedness and confidence in their education. Its alignment with
children’s welfare is something the Junior League of the Palm Beaches believes strongly in supporting.
Their work in conjunction with mentoring and housing programs like Vita Nova, Girls Empowerment
Mentoring Sessions and the Nelle Smith residence makes working with the Community Back to School
Bash a great fit. Back to School Bash is designed to provide disadvantaged and low-income children with
supplies for the upcoming school year.
Volunteers are assigned to individual children and serve as shopping buddies by guiding them through
the process of selecting their very own grade-specific school supplies. Volunteers are also responsible for
facilitating activities for children who are waiting. Visit the Back to School Bash website at
