West Palm Beach, FL – November 2, 2025 – Imagine being a 16-year-old whose world has been turned upside down after losing your older sister to a drunk driver and facing relentless bullying at school. Imagine being a father caring for his wife, who has been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s, while trying to comfort a confused six-year-old who doesn’t understand why “Mommy is sick.” Imagine being a single mother working two jobs, struggling to manage three defiant children, and desperately trying to make things better.
These are the faces of the many families served by Boys Town South Florida—families who live and work right here in our community. They are our neighbors, friends, and coworkers — the cashier at the grocery store, the banker downtown, the mom at the PTA meeting.
Each year, Boys Town South Florida helps more than 3,000 at-risk children and families across Palm Beach, Martin, and Broward counties. For families in crisis, hope begins with meeting their immediate basic needs before addressing deeper challenges.
That is why Boys Town South Florida is proud to announce the official opening of its first Giving Pantry, created to provide essential items — such as food, clothing, hygiene kits, baby supplies, toys, and gift cards — to families facing hardship. The goal is simple but powerful: to offer an immediate response to families in need, meeting them where they are and showing compassion in action.
“A small act of kindness speaks volumes and can mean everything for those moments when families are at their lowest,” said Daniela Mesquita, Boys Town South Florida Sr. Development Director – Sites. “Our Giving Pantry allows us to bring comfort, dignity, and hope to the families we serve every day.”
