Lake Worth Downtown Cultural Alliance presents
Non Stop Holiday Celebrations
All of December in Lake Worth
Small towns often suffer during the holiday season, deserted by the masses for the large malls; lured by glossy ads and non-stop commercials. Downtown Lake Worth is fighting back with extraordinary wares, great pricing, quality merchandise, exceptional food and entertainment.
Starting on December 3 and continuing until January 6, Lake Worth turns into a Holiday Wonderland of fun events and cultural offerings. Partnering in bringing holiday joy to friends and neighbors are the DCA (Downtown Cultural Alliance), the CRA (Community Redevelopment Agency), LULA (Lake Worth Art.com), the Lake Worth Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Lake Worth.
1. December 2: Evening on the Avenue features band concerts in the Cultural Plaza, vendors and street performers up and down the avenues. A fantasy glass spinning demonstration will take place outside of the Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery. Holiday foods will be found at many of the local food and specialty shops.
2. December 3: The DCA sponsored first Holiday Stroll will take place from 5-9PM. Merchants vie for best decorated holiday windows. Stroll the streets visiting shops and taking in the holiday lights. From 6-10PM the CRA presents Holly-Days, Lake Worth, a FREE family event. This includes a petting zoo, letters to Santa, pictures with Santa and a tree lighting ceremony with “I Love Lucy” theme.
3. December 10: 10AM-4PM the DCA presents the Second Saturday Sidewalk Sale. Vendors and Street Performers line the avenues with unique wares, tasty foods and wonderful music. All shops and restaurants will present their best foods and wares. The theme this Saturday will be Mug-a-Thon. Artists will create mugs of every size, shape and color for easy gift giving. Merchants will stuff mugs with soaps, candies and other unique gift ideas. From 12-6PM the Kiwanis Club presents Santa’s Wonderland Workshop, a fun filled family event. 6-8PM the City of Lake Worth will hold its annual Light Up the Night Parade. Be sure to bring your own lawn chairs so that you can relax as you watch the local high school bands and floats come down the street. Look for Mr. and Mrs. Claus, lots of side entertainment and the Home Depot craft center.
4. December 16: Evening on the Avenue comes at the heart of the festive season celebration. Visitors to town are invited to drop off art supplies for children that will be donated to the local public elementary schools, at the Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery in downtown Lake Worth. This is a stocking stuffer evening on the Avenues with shops and vendors catering to all of your last minute needs at affordable prices.
5. December 17: The last DCA Holiday Stroll takes place as windows come alive with decorations and activities. Look for Hot Cider and Cookies in many of the shops throughout town. 5-9PM features the Lake Worth Chamber of Commerce and Sounds of the Season. Local high school and community bands, carolers and choirs will be performing throughout the town and in the Cultural Plaza.
6. December 23 & 24: Last minute holiday shopping. The downtown merchants and restaurants of Lake Worth will be going all out to make sure your final hours of holiday preparation will be both fun and affordable. Music will ring out from every corner as the town works together to make this your favorite place for fun and shopping.
7. Happy Holiday to Everyone from your friends in Downtown Lake Worth: Return to the real world on January 6th with The Nightmare AFTER Christmas. From 6-10PM the Lake Worth Playhouse, Compass and the CRA unite to blend Halloween and Christmas into a night that will showcase the best of what Lake Worth has to offer. Flock to the Cultural Plaza for a night (mare) you will never forget.
