Wellington Art Society Meeting December 14th
Presentation by Carlos Castellanos, award winning illustrator/syndicated cartoonist, ARTrepreneur and creative coach.
Wellington, FL, December 14, 2011– The last Wellington Art Society meeting of 2011 and holiday party will be at the Wellington Community Center at 12165 West Forest Hill Blvd. Light refreshments will be served beginning at 6:30pm. The general meeting begins at 7:00PM and is open to the public. A donation of $5 per person is requested to help support our youth scholarship fund.
Following the general meeting is a presentation by Carlos Castellanos, award winning illustrator/syndicated cartoonist, ARTrepreneur and creative coach.
Carlos is the co-creator and artist behind the popular nationally syndicated newspaper comic strip ‘BALDO’, the most widely distributed Latino family comic strip appearing in over 250 daily and Sunday newspapers including The Palm Beach Post, Sun-Sentinel and The Miami Herald and read by millions nationwide.
Carlos is the author of two Baldo compilation books ‘The Lower You Ride, The Cooler You Are’ and ‘Night of the Bilingual Telemarketers’, co-author of the newly published ‘The Ultimate Success Secret’ and featured in books ‘Latinos In The Arts’ and ‘Your Brain On Latino Comics’. He is also executive producer of the ‘Baldo’ Animated TV series currently in development.
Recently The Palm Beach State College celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with an exhibit of his Baldo Comic strip in the Jan and Gary Dario Gallery. On display were hand drawn and nationally published weekly comic strips, storyboards, and a short video on the evolution of the comic artist.
He has been featured in numerous publications including Palm Beach Illustrated and most recently Art & Culture Fall 2011 issue.

Founded in 1981, The Wellington Art Society is open to artists of all mediums and patrons of the arts, providing both local and regional artists the platform to share their work, learn more about their craft and serve the community through their art. The Wellington Art Society is open to any resident in Palm Beach County. Membership forms will be available at the meeting if you would like to become a member.
