Lake Worth Playhouse Presents Red Hot Rhythms in their Concert Series!
Playhouse Concert Series Features Fantastic Bands
METROPOLITAN KLEZMER (February 18, 2010 – 8:00 p.m.)
Metropolitan Klezmer brings eclectic exuberance to Yiddish musical genres from all over the map. Performing vibrant versions of lesser‐known gems from wedding dance, trance, folk, swing and tango styles as well as soundtrack material from vintage Yiddish films, they reinvent tradition with both irreverence and respect for an exhilarating and unforgettable journey.
THE LATIN JAZZ PROJECT (March 10, 2010 – 8:00 p.m.)
The unique style of The Latin Jazz Project blends hot Latin‐Jazz, Afro‐Cuban and traditional Cuban instrumental music for a distinct sound that brings audiences to their feet. The nine‐member band performs the music of Duke Ellington, Chucho Valdes and other Latin‐Jazz greats.
THE LEGENDS OF DOO WOP (March 16, 2010 – 8:00 p.m.)
The Legends of Doo Wop are a well‐known group harmony act that has played to standing‐room‐only audiences from New York to Los Angeles and throughout Europe performing popular favorites from the early days of Rock n’ Roll. The band’s members – Jimmy Gallagher (The Passions), Tony Marsa (The Crests), Frank Mancuso (The Imagination) and Steve Horn (The Five Sharks) – have four songs in the Top 100 Greatest Hits listing, recently released by WCBS radio in New York.

Tickets are $29 per concert ($40 for New Year’s Eve Celebration with Swing 8n’t All) and can be purchased by contacting the Lake Worth Playhouse Box Office at 561‐586‐6410. ABOUT LAKE WORTH PLAYHOUSE
Lake Worth Playhouse is a non‐profit community theatre with a diverse array of offerings, including award‐winning dramas, comedies, musicals, area premieres, Broadway favorites, children’s shows, ballets and operas on film, live concerts, improv comedy and alternative programming. In addition to its main stage theatrical fare, the Playhouse presents year‐round independent and foreign films in the Stonzek Theatre, an intimate black‐box style theatre equipped with a large viewing screen and high‐definition projection. The Playhouse is proud to offer a variety of educational programs for adults and children, as well as community outreach initiatives that bring cultural programs into the neighborhoods of underserved youth and also make theatre available free of charge for disadvantaged citizens in the community.
LOCATION
Lake Worth Playhouse is located at 713 Lake Avenue in Downtown Lake Worth. It is situated on the south side of Lake Avenue two blocks east of Dixie Highway. Free, well‐lighted parking is available on Lake Avenue and surrounding side streets, with free parking lots located behind the Playhouse.
