Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center Announces Dates and Details for the 2011 Dinner Dance!
“My First Pony” is this year’s theme, and will showcase riders from all levels and disciplines and their first ponies. These riders will include Mason Phelps, Tuny Page, and Tami Hoag along with riders from the VTRC whose first ponies are mounts owned by VTRC.
After last year’s success with the Mechanical Bull riding competition, VTRC has stepped it up a notch this year to add another layer of excitement to the Annual Dinner Dance. This year, there will be three “Buck Off” events held at the Players Club on Thursday nights before the Dinner Dance. These dates are Thursday, January 27, 2011, Thursday February 3, 2011 and Thursday February 10, 2011. Each of these “Buck Off” Events will serve as the qualifying rounds for the Final “Buck Off” Event, which will be held on the night of the Dinner Dance. The final teams qualified will compete against the winners from last year’s competition, the “Bad Boy Vets” made up of Bill Patterson, Bryan Dubynsky, Johnny Jack, and Travis Laas.
This annual gala event that began in 1986 is the main fundraiser for the Center, and has raised more than three million dollars for therapeutic and recreational horseback riding for special needs children and adults of Palm Beach County. The money raised enables VTRC to provide services to over 350 clients per year through its four different programs: Therapeutic Riding, Hippotherapy, Horses for Heroes and Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy. Last year’s event alone raised $400,000 for VTRC.
In addition to the Dinner Dance, this year’s exciting Live Auction items will include international trips and a shipping package from Lazcar International.
During the dinner, VTRC will also show a video conveying their mission to turn disability into ability. There will also be a short awards ceremony for riders and volunteers alike. The Rider of the Year Award is given out, showcasing one rider’s achievements throughout the 2010 calendar year. Special awards are also given to hardworking volunteers for their outstanding service and dedication throughout the year.
Tables will go quickly for the 2011 Benefit Auction Dinner & Dance; to purchase tickets please call 561-792-9900 or visit www.vinceremos.com/benefit.html.
