PALM BEACH COUNTY (February 16, 2012) –
Rick Neuhoff officially announced his candidacy at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 16, 2012, surrounded by family, friends and supporters in front of the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office.
Have you heard them? They are an enthused group, happy to sign a petition to help Rick Neuhoff qualify to appear on the ballot for the District 5 seat of the Palm Beach County Commission (www.RickNeuhoff2012.com).
With 1,147 verified signatures required by the Supervisor of Elections, Rick has received many more than that minimum and his motivated supporters are committed to vote on August 14, in the Primary, for their candidate, Rick Neuhoff. As of now, there is no Republican challenger and the Primary may decide this race.
Instead of depending upon corporate and special interest donors, Rick sees himself as a public servant running because of his views and beliefs, not developing his views and beliefs to serve those who would expect favors in exchange for their political donations. Neuhoff wants the people to sign for him, support him and vote for him!
His sensitivity and passion for helping those less fortunate is evident by his fund and awareness raising efforts for Muscular Dystrophy, UNICEF, Autism Speaks and Planned Parenthood.
He is appalled by politicians who use their office for personal gain rather than for the reasons they were elected, offended by those who value power and profit over the needs of the public good, and insulted by any who exploit religion and superstition to the exclusion of science. Rick says, “These people generate fear and spread misinformation to create an easily controlled population for their benefit.”
Rick Neuhoff, on the other hand, is running to bring openness and accountability, a sustainable infrastructure and smart managed growth to Palm Beach County. Ready to start the job from day one, Rick has developed a rebranding and marketing plan to entice tourists and businesses to Palm Beach which was once known as “Corruption County.” Neuhoff says, “It is time for a perceivable change in our credibility and reputation.”
Because of his heart felt desire to serve and popularity with almost every political club in the County, his “People Powered Campaign” is overwhelming. The public is all but “shouting” for his involvement and reaching out to him for his leadership. He knows the fight will be difficult. His opponent is part of a team with a near twenty year entrenchment in the County and we say… TOO LONG! That is for Kings, not elected officials in a democracy!
