ART IN PUBLIC PLACES DISPLAYED IN WELLINGTON BUILDINGS
Wellington is excited to announce that the 8th Annual Art In Public Places
Program for the 2012-2013 year has been displayed in three Wellington Municipal locations. The Wellington Community Center, Village Park Gymnasium, and City Hall will be showcasing the artwork, which includes paintings and photographs, until August 2013. The public is invited to view the artwork during normal business hours.
The Art In Public Places program is a collaborative effort between the Wellington Art Society and the Village of Wellington. The program, which began in 2005, has continued to grow and attract local artists from around Palm Beach County. The “Call to Artists” is announced in September with an October due date. The artwork is chosen, collected and then displayed thru August of the following year. An Artists’ Reception was held on Wednesday, January 9th from 5:30-6:30pm. The chosen participants enjoyed viewing the artwork, meeting fellow artists and refreshments provided by the Wellington Art Society.
