Florida Intergenerational Orchestra Call for Musicians and Upcoming Holiday Concert

Boca Raton, Florida – Always looking for new faces, the Florida Intergenerational Orchestra under the direction of founder/conductor, Lorraine Marks-Field.  begins its 17th Anniversary Season holding OPEN REHEARSALS for all musicians on Thursday, October 20th at 7:00 p.m.  Upcoming Holiday Concert too!! Just bring your instruments, a music stand and your love of music.Call us at 561-922-3134 for location and requirements. We need musicians that play strings, wind, brass and tuba.  Also a good oboist would be nice!  Our last one is off to college. Currently our age range is 9 to 91.

We are hoping to grow our audiences this 2022-2023 season. We are so happy to see our audiences return to “live” music concerts. We are embarking upon a Renaissance of music. New opportunities, new music, new website, introducing our musicians and audiences to fabulous concerts, and enhancing the quality of life in our communities. Please join with us.

We are hoping that this season will be the best yet for the orchestra as over the years we have improved our performances, developed our audiences, and have attracted more and more dedicated players.  We will continue to offer scholarships to those in need.The Florida Intergenerational Orchestra of America, a 501(c)(3) is a volunteer orchestra for players who wish to share and develop their artistic talents while enjoying music making in a friendly orchestral setting. The repertoire is carefully chosen to accommodate the ensemble’s need for music with a wide range of styles and difficulty. *Our First concert this season “A Very Merry Holiday Concert” will be held on Sunday, December 4th, 3 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, O”Shea Hall , 22094 Lyons Road, Boca Raton.  The concert will feature holiday favorites and light classical music. It also will have SantaElvis, an original song by Bob Field, the orchestra manager and pianist, scored for orchestra by esteemed 92 year old conductor and arranger Peter Fuchs ,and an original Christmas composition by Christopher Maners! We’ll even have award-winning dancers.  What else could you ask for to enjoy a Sunday afternoon? It will cost you a lot less than a baseball game and you will always come out a winner!
