J Street has become the liveliest street in the quaint town of Lake Worth Beach.  The merchants, restaurants and specialty shops work as a team to bring unique and wonderful talent, food, drink and the arts to this little street, the Greenwich Village of Florida.

The Holiday Season brings out the playfulness in every merchant on J Street, along with a wide variety of friends and followers.  The artist community is busy creating unique, wonderful and affordable gifts and novelties for everyone to enjoy. The music venues will pour into the streets, alleys and sidewalks with every kind of music from Blues, Jazz and Folk to Rock and Roll.  Poets take to the street with spoken word, and holiday narrative. The best coffee and beverages are certifiably found on J Street. Books and story hours will be regularly scheduled, indoors and out. Hair designs and hair fashions to suit the season are a specialty on J Street.  Looking for new or vintage clothing- J Street has it- and it is unique and one of a kind. Musicians, food vendors, artists, and pied pipers for the children will be part of all the events throughout this season.

Common Grounds Coffee, 12 South J Street, sits at the eastern portal of J Street Junction life.  Regularly named number one coffee house in the county, there are often lines around the block on evenings when Karaoke or Spoken Word open stages occur.  On Holiday Bazaar evenings the joy will pour into the streets. Stop in for a sip and a snack.

Saillight Salon, 14 South J Street, is a unique hair design studio, ready to work with you and your image for the holiday season.  Don’t forget to photograph yourself against their colorful seaside mural.

Stiches and Rust, 16 South J Street, is a small Vintage and Handmade Boutique making a big splash at its new home on J Street. They specialize in affordable men’s and women’s vintage clothing and unique one of a kind handmade clothing. They also have an eclectic collection of vintage housewares and small furniture pieces.  Judging from the crowds that file in and out of the little shop, they have already been discovered. Now it is your turn to slip into an elegant retro find.

Kroman Gallery, 16 1/2 South J Street, offers a fine collection of contemporary art. Besides the art of the poster, and of rock artist Gary Kroman, the gallery offers different, offbeat product created by artists with new ideas and styles.  Every gallery opening is a rock-concert itself, led by artist/musician Gary Kroman. For the Holiday Bazaar the music will pour into the street. Wear your dancing shoes.

The Book Cellar, 801 Lake Avenue, is the Western portal to J Street Junction.  A lively gathering place of books and food and friends, they will create events for adults and children inside and outside their building.

Magnolia Boutique, 11 South J Street, is a dream shop for those who love colorful, easy to wear fashion designs.  Expect to see boutique gifts for the holidays

Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery, 15 South J Street, is a non-profit 3-D cooperative of local artists.  Their space includes a gallery and studio. Come in and watch pottery being made on the pottery wheel, and then try your hand at painting mugs and making things in clay and fused glass.

Revelry, 17 South J Street, is a unique and popular little wine bar that is usually filled with locals and fans of music and parties.  Join Revelry for Happy Hour every Friday from 4-7pm, where you can enjoy $5 wine and $5 craft draft beer.  Friday Nov 29th:  Black Friday Happy Hour extended to 9pm.  Saturday Nov 30th:  Drink Local for Small Business Saturday.  Enjoy local craft beers for $4.

Rudy’s Pub, 21 South J Street, is famous throughout Palm Beach County and beyond for its lively music, wonderful stage and welcoming atmosphere.  A gathering place for musicians who pour in to perform and jam, it creates that hometown neighborhood feel missing in the larger commercial scene.  Folks just love to hang out at Rudy’s and flow with the music. There’s music in the air all the time, and then there are the special acts. Enjoy the best local live music in the most intimate setting with happy creative people.
They also have a great selection of craft beer and wine as well as fresh tasty bar bites.

Sidewalks Alleys and Parking Lots- Cultural Festival Events

A Holiday Bazaar that takes to the streets would not be complete without a never-ending supply of artists, vendors, food and music.  Add to this a dedicated and enthusiastic group of teens who want to create art and change the world, and you have a real party.

The Rising Tide Initiative is a group of 12 teens and their friends, working with Flamingo Clay Studio, to create and market their art.  They are dedicated to making a positive difference in their community. In addition to the visual and performing arts they bring to this festival; they will also have a voter’s registration booth to make sure all our neighbors sign up to vote.  Funding their efforts are Healthier Lake Worth and Arts Alive through PNC Bank.

Local Artists will set up booths on the sidewalks and alleys selling unique works and fine-art crafts.  The artists of the J Street Galleries will join them.

Throughout the Holiday Bazaar season, J Street Junction will cater to families and children. Pied Piper Javier Del Sol will lead games, stories, music and show outdoor films on the alley walls.  Look for balloon art, face painting and big bubble making.

Culinary Artists will be on the street, as well, selling delicious tastes of food and home-made treats.  Watch for news of this years Cookie Crawl. Look for the home-based business that makes Avocado Sauce from an ancient family recipe.

J Street Immigration Attorney, Nadine Heitz will do a FREE clinic where she will book consultations for people who want to find out if they qualify to become US Citizens.  It will be by appointment only, date to be determined.

J Street Junction is a wonderful place to visit.  In the hustle and bustle of other towns, J Street is a family fun-filled spot to hang out in and enjoy the old-fashioned hospitality of small-town life. Everyone is a friend; everyone is a neighbor, and no one is ever a stranger.
