Testimony from Holocaust Survivors is our most powerful educational tool.

(Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) – October 28, 2024 inSIGHT Through Education, the primary funder of Holocaust education for Palm Beach County schools, proudly announces its new Speakers Training Program. These virtual workshops provide storytelling training for the children (second generation) of Holocaust Survivors.

The program will prepare and empower the 2G community to become guest speakers in elementary, middle, and high schools throughout Palm Beach County. Involvement will not only enrich the personal journeys of participants but also help provide life-changing opportunities for thousands of students.

Workshops will be led by award-winning author and documentary storyteller, Rachael Cerrotti. Her work, We Share the Same Sky, chronicles her grandmother’s Holocaust journey and exemplifies how storytelling can preserve history.

Sessions will be offered via Zoom twice a month beginning on November 10, 2024, and ending on March 16, 2025. Participants will delve into family archives, learn storytelling techniques for different audiences, navigate ethical considerations of sharing family stories, discuss competing and contradictory memories, explore themes of grief, immigration, and love, and consider the power and responsibility of passing down stories.
