“Save the Panther 5k” Race Returns to the Palm Beach Zoo

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.The 2nd annual “Save the Panther 5K” race at the Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society, presented by Sagicor Life Insurance Company, is taking place on Saturday, January 3, 2015. The race route winds through DreherPark, finishing inside the Zoo grounds at 1301 Summit Boulevard, West Palm Beach, FL.

Participants are encouraged to register early to take advantage of the limited-time race registration fees of $30.00 for adults, $20.00 for children/youth (ages 17 and under). On December 22, 2014, the fee will increase to $35.00 for adults. The morning of the race, the on-site registration fee for adults will be $40.00, and $25.00 for children/youth. Guests, runners and race supporters can meet the Zoo’s Florida panther, Mirasol, or Micco, a Florida panther ambassador, during a special Panther Talk at 10 a.m. on race day. The race is certified “green” by Athletes For A Fit Planet, which indicates the Zoo pledges to incorporate sustainable practices in the running event.

The first 500 runners will receive a free t-shirt made out of 100% cotton, featuring a full-color photo of Micco silk-screened on the front. Because of popular demand, this included shirt is available in women’s sizes as well as men’s and youth sizes (shown below in women’s size).
