2014 Persimmon Award

The YWCA of Palm Beach County is pleased to announce the winner of its 2014 Persimmon Award, Jacki Ojakian.

Jacki Ojakian

As the YWCA’s signature color, persimmon represents strength and confidence, and the Persimmon Award honors a woman who has played a significant role in support of the YWCA’s mission of eliminating racism and empowering women during the past year.

Ojakian, a Realtor with Waterfront Properties & Club Communities in North Palm Beach, has served as Chairwoman of the YWCA’s signature event, the Harmony House Gala, for the past two years.  The event, scheduled for December 10, 2014 at The Breakers, Palm Beach, is a major source of funding for Harmony House, the Y’s shelter for abused women and their children.

“Jacki did an amazing job as Chair of our Harmony House Gala last year, and we are so pleased that she agreed to serve in that capacity again this year,” said Suzanne Turner, CEO of the YWCA.

Ojakian was presented with the award at the YWCA’s Annual Major Donor and Volunteer Recognition Luncheon held on June 17, 2014, at Bear Lakes Country Club.
