In the election this November, Floridians will vote on Amendment 4: Right to Abortion Initiative that would provide a constitutional right to abortion before fetal viability (estimated to be around 24 weeks) or when necessary to protect the patient’s health, as determined by the patient’s healthcare provider.
Prior to joining Planned Parenthood—where she is responsible for leading and executing strategic plans—Laura Goodhue served as Executive Director of Florida CHAIN, a statewide consumer health advocacy organization, where she led many statewide coalitions advocating for the uninsured and underinsured, defending and implementing the Affordable Care Act, protecting Medicaid recipients, representing consumer interests in the Florida Legislature, serving on numerous advisory boards and as a sought after media spokesperson. She has more than 20 years of advocacy experience including organizing and policy positions with ACORN in New York City and Florida, Legal Aid of North Carolina, and community-based organizations in Washington, DC.
