Juno Beach, Fla. (May 3, 2023) – Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) has been awarded a grant from the Admirals Cove Foundation to expand its community outreach across Palm Beach County with engaging and informative sea turtle nesting programs and educational materials. The grant, named “Respect the Locals: Sea Turtles of the Palm Beaches Community Outreach Program,” will deliver high-quality ocean and sea turtle educational resources and presentations to approximately 500 visitors and locals at community resource centers, resorts, and senior living facilities.
“This generous support from the Admirals Cove Foundation will help us empower more residents and visitors to be better stewards of these coastal ecosystems in Palm Beach County,” said Hannah Campbell, vice president of education for Loggerhead Marinelife Center.
Attendees of “Respect the Locals” will see a live presentation conducted by one of the Center’s experienced staff, featuring the latest information on sea turtle nesting season and resources on local involvement. Hotels, condominiums, and associations will receive free informational brochures and have the opportunity to display in-room education for residents and guests about current sea turtle research and ocean conservation efforts.
“Admirals Cove Foundation is proud to partner with the Loggerhead Marinelife Center to protect and preserve marine ecosystems through free educational programs for children and adults of all ages,” said Rebecca Divine, executive director for Admirals Cove Foundation.
