Palm Beach County Cultural Council Issues CALL TO ARTISTS for First Juried Art Exhibition in New Lake Worth Headquarters May 5 – August 4, 2012

 

Submission Deadline is March 17

 

(Lake Worth, FL – March 5, 2012) The Palm Beach County Cultural Council, the official arts agency that serves non-profit cultural organizations and professional artists throughout the county, today issued a CALL FOR ARTISTS to participate in the first juried exhibition in the Council’s new home in downtown Lake Worth.

 

The exhibition will run from May 5 through August 4, 2012. All professional artists who reside in Palm Beach County may submit up to three (3) recent artworks, from the past three (3) years, for consideration by a jury panel of local professionals.

 

The call is open to all artists over the age of 18. All forms of artwork are accepted in any media and should be submitted via slide or CD-ROM, jpeg or tiff files only, with completed paperwork requirements. Submission deadline is March 17, 2012, and all submissions must be postmarked or received no later than 5 p.m. on that date, Artists will be notified in writing early April. No telephone calls, please.

 

The jury panel includes Rolando Barrerro, Gallery Director of ActivistArtistA GalleryStudio in Boynton Beach; Jamnea Finlayson, owner of JF Gallery & Framing in West Palm Beach; and Ken Plasket, owner of Kenneth Plasket Gallery, also in West Palm Beach.

 

The Cultural Council is now located in the historic Robert M. Montgomery, Jr. Building, 601 Lake Avenue in downtown Lake Worth. The 12,500 square feet building contains galleries for community exhibitions, tourism services, education and training facilities. It is open to the public Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
