Palm Beach Fine Craft Show Returns for its 10th year to the PBC Convention Center March 1-3

Features 120 Contemporary Craft Artists from 31 states  jennifer_mccurdy_3

West Palm Beach, FL – The prestigious Palm Beach Fine Craft Show returns for its 10th season March 1-3 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.

Not to be confused with the many “craft fairs” that dot the Florida landscape, the Palm Beach Fine Craft Show is a premier showcase of American contemporary art and design, presenting masterful work, beautifully showcased in an elegant indoor setting in the heart of Palm Beach County.

The Palm Beach Fine Craft Show is professionally juried to ensure the highest level of excellence and originality in the work presented. Every piece is designed and made in artists’ studios across America.

The show features 120 of the nation’s top contemporary craft artists offering their latest work in ceramics, glass, metal, mixed media, wearable art, jewelry, and more.

Art couture’ and hand-crafted jewelry will also be featured at the Palm Beach Fine Craft Show, with designs ranging from casual to elegant.

Fashion designers visitors can look forward to meeting at the show include Brooklyn- based Selma Karaka, who was the designer of choice for Esperanza Spalding, the 2011 Grammy Winner for Best New Artist.  Spalding also chose one of Karaka’s dresses for Clive Davis pre-Grammy Party this year (2012) at the Beverly Hilton (the very dress Spalding wore to that event was a big hit at the fashion show during the 2012 Palm Beach Fine Craft Show). The work of as many as 35 designers will be highlighted in two weekend fashion shows (3pm Fri. and 1pm Sat.).

Functional art, work made with found objects, and purely decorative works of art will be on display at the Palm Beach Fine Craft Show beginning March 1st, with something for every taste and budget. Details at www.PalmBeachFineCraftShow.com

The Art of the Story

With noted ceramic artist Kirsten Stingle

Every culture in the world has its favorite storytellers – those who have added to the richness of people’s lives by telling their stories. But not all stories are told with the spoken word.  Stingle will talk about her inspiration and the new collection she is working on for a museum exhibit at the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art this September.
