“Food Truck Safari” Returns at Zoo
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A popular event, the “Food Truck Safari,” returns to the Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society on Friday, March 21, 2014, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The public is invited to enjoy some of South Florida’s best food trucks, up-close animal encounters, live music and two beer and wine bars for guests ages 21 and over. This is the sixth “Food Truck Safari” offered at the Zoo.
“Every ‘Food Truck Safari’ we have held has been a huge success,” said Ron Brooks, Events Manager for the Zoo. “We are thrilled to offer this event and capitalize on the popularity of food trucks. It helps us entice people to the Zoo at a non-traditional hour, and maybe attract some first-time visitors.”
“We encourage participating food trucks to apply sustainable practices in their daily operations, as part of our mission of inspiring people to act on behalf of wildlife,” Brooks continued. “We’ll once again give out a ‘Sustainability Award’ to the truck that excels in the most environmental and conservation sustainability categories in our checklist.”
Guests can enjoy live music in the Interactive Fountain Plaza and in the Mayan Plaza. The Zoo has partnered with Food Truck Collective to offer the following gourmet food trucks for the “Food Truck Safari” on March 21, 2014:
Poor Boy’s Kitchen
Overload Extreme Street Food
Outside The Box Sandwich Co
Crazydilla
Sweet Cravings NY
Inspir Asian
PS561
BC Tacos
Joe Snow Quality Ice Cream
Killer Melts
Zoo admission for the Food Truck Safari is $9 adult members, $10 adult non-members, $6 child members, $7 child non-members, under 3 free. Gate proceeds support regular Zoo operations.
Food and beverage purchases are NOT included in admission. All food trucks are donating a portion of their proceeds toward Zoo operations. Trucks accept cash or credit.
