(West Palm Beach, FL – February 13, 2019) Friends of the Mounts Botanical Garden will be hosting several fun and family-friendly horticultural events during February and March, including the amazing eco-exhibition, CUTTING CORNERS: A Stickwork Exhibit, which will be on display at Mounts through mid-summer.
Family Fun Mini-Maker Fair
Saturday, February 23 – 10 am to Noon

Due to rampant “nature-deficit disorder” – the staggering divide between today’s wired generation and the outdoors – Mounts is offering a unique opportunity to activate their creative, imagination, and resourcefulness by using the extra willow saplings from the recent community build of CUTTING CORNERS: A Stickwork Exhibition. This family-friendly event for children will celebrate fun, education, and making things.

Dogs Day in the Garden

Back by PUP-ular Demand. This is the perfect opportunity to bring the entire family, dogs included, to visit Mounts. Take a walk on the winding paths, meet other pooch pals, heel for photo opportunities, and shop at dog-friendly vendors. All dogs MUST be on a non-retractable leash (strictly enforced). Be part of this tail-wagging good time. Cost is included with Garden admission.

Kids in the Kitchen is an annual Junior League of the Palm Beaches initiative focused on family nutrition and healthy lifestyles for children. Targeted to ages 4-9 and their parents, activities will include fun nutrition and exercise, opportunities for children to learn how to live a healthy lifestyle, tips on making healthy snacks, healthy food tastings, a short demonstration of gardening and healthy eating, and fee giveaways.

A Stickwork Exhibition

This awe-inspiring new eco-exhibition is part of the Garden’s 40th Anniversary Ruby Jubilee celebration and runs through June. Located in the Great Lawn area of the Garden, this interactive, environmental exhibit features an original, massive,stickwork sculpture designed by internationally acclaimed artist Patrick Dougherty and created on site through a “community build” by 106 volunteers utilizing 30,000 pounds of willow. The exhibition invites visitors to wander through, admire, and become part of a living art experience.
