The April Music for the Mind concert will feature violinist Gareth Johnson
Regarded as one of the most musical and technically superior artists of his generation, he brings to the stage vitality, charisma and energy of a 21st century modern virtuoso. Gareth travels the world as a soloist, master teacher, and educator; and is a dedicated composer and arranger of contemporary, classical, new age, and hip hop music. He will be accompanied on the piano by the very talented Dr. Robin Arrigo. Proceeds will benefit the Keyboards for Kids group piano classes for inner city children.
The Music for the Mind concerts are held on the third Tuesday of every month in the Harriet Himmel Theater at CityPlace. Each concert presents a different musical group from local area schools and community organizations. Since its inception in 2002, the Music for the Mind concert series has given almost 11,000 young musicians the opportunity to perform and has raised over $550,000 to help keep music in our community.
