“Race in the Movies”
An evening of movie clips from Mainstream Hollywood with feedback from Local Community Panelists.
Join us as we explore the portrayal of race and stereotypes in movies. You will view major films in a different light and see scenes as you’ve never seen them before.
Caroline Breder-Watts, Film Historian and host of WXEL’s “Listening to Movies”, will lead the discussion and our notable panelists will respond through the eyes of the diversity that is Palm Beach County.
A “sneak preview” of some of the featured clips:
Crash, Do the Right Thing, The Godfather, The Birth of a Nation, Gentleman’s Agreement, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Scarface, Touch of Evil, Revenge of the Nerds, The Visitor, Deliverance, Borat, and more………
