FAMILIES INVITED FOR SOUTH FLORIDA SCIENCE MUSEUM FUN FEST ON NOVEMBER 23
While moms shop till they drop at all the early morning doorbuster deals, dads can be a hero and take the kids to burn off their turkey at the South Florida Science Museum’s Family Fun Fest. The event on Friday, November 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. will feature many hands-on, science activities as well as the Mobile Learning Adventure (MLA) traveling exhibit for children birth to five-years-old, courtesy of PNC.
“This is the second year we will have PNC’s Mobile Learning Adventure at the Museum and it’s a great way to entertain the kids after Thanksgiving,” said Lew Crampton, CEO of the South Florida Science Museum. “We agree with PNC that early childhood education is important and we are happy to offer various early childhood classes right here at the Museum. We look forward to a great crowd on November 23 and thank the Junior League of the Palm Beaches for providing volunteers for the day.”
The Museum will overflow onto the front lawn for Family Fun Fest. Guests of all ages will enjoy entertainment, crafts, interactive science labs and exploration of the Museum’s exhibitions, aquarium and current traveling exhibit Treasure! The Mobile Learning Adventure and vendors will be set up outside the Museum. At 3 p.m. guests can head inside to hear kid’s entertainer Patty Shukla giving a free musical performance.
The Mobile Learning Adventure is a traveling exhibit that provides an opportunity for parents and caregivers to learn about the importance of early childhood education while engaging in fun activities with their children. The MLA will provide fun, interactive and educational activities for children and parents and demonstrate that everyday activities are learning opportunities. The children can transform into what they want to be when they grow up including an astronaut, fireman, ballerina scientist or doctor. When they are all dressed up, they will have their picture taken to remember the day. The interactive exhibit will also include activities, crafts, giveaways as well as information for parents about early childhood education.
