Up the River with a Paddle
Fundraiser for: By the River, Indian River County’s independent, living community for low-income seniors
Name of Event: Up the River with a Paddle
Open to: Recreational and competitive paddlers of all ages and skill levels
Races include: Individual and tandem kayak in various categories (Kids Fun Race, Masters 50+, parent/child, competitive long distance and stand up paddle board) and team races in giant 6-man elephant canoe for groups, clubs and organizations
All proceeds benefit By the River
Costs: Begin at $5 for kids, $35 for individual entrants and $l30 for team races. All include American Canoe Association insurance. The public is welcome to attend the festivities free of charge and cheer on their favorite racers.
Other info: All racers receive event t-shirt and swag bag of give-aways. All winners receive prizes and trophies. Canoes and kayaks will be provided. Entertainment, food, vendors and activities for kids such as arts and crafts and face painting will be happening throughout the day.
Date: Saturday, November l7th from 9:00-3:00 pm
Place: Dale Wimbrow Park in Sebastian
