November, 2015 – New Dog Obedience Classes in Wellington, FL
Wellington is excited to offer new dog obedience classes for you and your furry, four-legged friends.
Instructor Barb Forgash will lead the classes. She comes to us with a passion for dogs, a wealth of information, and over 35 years of experience in the dog training field, including as founding member and training director of two obedience clubs. Barb’s classes require active participation from handlers, using the praise method of training paired with homework activities. Barb will target specific needs and address requested issues. Whether you plan to show off your prized pal or simply need to control their behavior, this class is for you. Pre-vet students from Wellington High School will also be on site to assist in making sure all participants receive the best, and most successful, one-on-one training experience.
Classes are held on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., beginning November 2, 2015. The program is open to participants ages 16 or older, who have never titled a dog in obedience. Class options include a “Blended” class that combines Puppy Kindergarten (for dogs under 6 months) and Basic Home Obedience (for dogs over 6 months) from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Following this class is the Basic Home Obedience Class (for dogs over 6 months) from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Class sizes are limited. Registration is $40 for an 8-week session, and must be done in person at the Village Park Gymnasium, 11700 Pierson Road. Actual classes will take place in a safely sectioned-off area of the Wellington Municipal Complex parking lot, 12300 Forest Hill Boulevard (nearest Montauk Drive).
