New Family Pilot Program for “Boo at the Zoo”

Palm Beach Zoo News

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The Palm Beach Zoo is seeking families who are interested in volunteering as a group for a trial program during “Boo at the Zoo.” Families must include at least one parent or guardian, and children must be at least ten years old to participate. Each family will volunteer for one day of their choice during the Halloween event, which runs October 18-20, and 25-27. The Zoo typically requires a volunteer to be aged 14 and above, but this pilot program allows younger children the chance to participate as a volunteer, as long as they are part of a family unit.

“We are excited to launch this new test program,” said Joe Landmichl, Volunteer Services Manager for the Zoo. “I have seen huge success with family programs at other zoos, and I want to facilitate a trial run for this model here in Palm Beach County .”

Deadline to register is by Wednesday, October 16, at 5 p.m.

To participate in the Zoo’s family pilot program, call Volunteer Services Manager Joe Landmichl at (561) 533-0887 x239, or email him at [email protected].
