Seventeen local artists have their art on display at Wellington Art Society’s new exhibition, Dreamscapes. This is completely free to see, with an upcoming reception on Sept. 16. The exhibition will be available until Nov. 10 and can be seen at the Wellington Community Center.

Dreamscapes has over 40 artworks to look at, from photography, to acrylics, watercolors, mixed-media works, oil paintings, and alcohol inks, the exhibition has plenty to see and appreciate.

“We have such a wonderful variety of mediums and subjects in this showcase,” said Heather Bergstrom, the president of WAS

“As I was brainstorming a theme, I kept coming back to the overall mood of the work. Many of the pieces have an ethereal quality—flowing lines, subtle color shifts, whimsical figures, and dreamlike narratives. The name Dreamscapes seemed to perfectly capture the feeling of this exhibition.”

Imagine…with John Lennon Fernando by Dinah Mirson

At the reception, a panel of judges will be there to select their favorite artworks, with a first, second and third place winner. If you go, you can give your input, and cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award.

The artists include Kim A. Bailey, Rachel Robinson, Dinah Mirson, Elaine Weber, Halyna Albanese, Ida Perez, Susan Oakes, Ayesha DeLorenzo, Janine Gmitter, Kris Dru Hilles, Lanzhi Wang, Lou Ann LaBohn, Philip S. Rappa,  Heather Bergstrom, Fred Stone, Raymonde Talleyrand, and Sue Slick Carlson.

inSIGHT and Centropa: Holocaust Education and Jewish History

inSIGHT Through Education Manager of Education and Outreach Participates in International Summer Academy

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — inSIGHT Through Education proudly supported three Palm Beach County educators who attended the 2025 Centropa Summer Academy, held July 9–16 in Budapest, Hungary, and Belgrade, Serbia.

This international professional development program convened 62 teachers from 16 countries to study 20th-century European history, the Holocaust, and Jewish memory. For more than a decade, inSIGHT has partnered with Centropa, funding over 20 local educators.

The program equips teachers with resources and firsthand experiences that bring Holocaust education and Jewish history vividly to life for students.

“This program is vital today as we work to ensure that the history of the Jewish people is understood, remembered, and honored,” said Kelly Warsaw, Board President of inSIGHT Through Education. “Centropa is uniquely suited to this task, using personal stories, survivor testimony, and archival materials to engage educators in ways that directly impact their students here at home.”

The Centropa Summer Academy combines lectures, films, site visits, and collaborative lesson-planning. Participants explored Jewish life and Holocaust history across Central and Eastern Europe while building connections with colleagues worldwide.

Educators visited the Great Dohány Street Synagogue in Budapest and they met Holocaust survivors and in Belgrade, the group retraced the history of a local Jewish family on a walking tour and visited the Staro Sajmište concentration camp memorial.

The local delegation included Marla Topiol, inSIGHT’s Manager of Education and Outreach, along with two schoolteachers.

All three were fully funded by inSIGHT. “I had a meaningful experience learning alongside educators from across the U.S., Europe, and Israel,” said Topiol. “It was deeply insightful to see how teachers around the world are engaging with Centropa resources to teach about European Jews and the Holocaust. I had the opportunity to explore lesson plans shared by educators from around the world on teaching the Holocaust and European Jewish life. This will help me better support our local teachers.”

By investing in opportunities like the Centropa Summer Academy, inSIGHT ensures that every student, every year, benefits from educators equipped to inspire remembrance, resilience, and respect.

About inSIGHT Through Education

Promise Fund Quadruples Women’s Health Programs – Its Largest Expansion to Date – With Three New Sites in Broward and Palm Beach Counties

Promise Fund scales its model to offer thousands more lifesaving breast and cervical cancer screenings, treatment, and navigation services

WEST PALM BEACH, FL, September 4, 2025 –Promise Fund, a West Palm Beach-based nonprofit whose mission is to increase survivorship from breast and cervical cancer by providing guided support and free to low-cost access to screenings and beyond, announced its largest growth to date, expanding from one Women’s Health Program to four with the opening of three new sites collocated at Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) in Broward and Palm Beach Counties. This milestone quadruples access to lifesaving breast and cervical cancer screenings for women with limited or no health insurance and demonstrates the success of Promise Fund’s innovative care model.

Since launching its pilot program in June 2020, Promise Fund has already provided nearly 10,000 screenings and 5,000 Pap tests, and it has navigated 247 cases of cancer detected through its screenings – proof that early detection saves lives. By scaling its model, the Promise Fund is set to help thousands more women across South Florida.

The new Women’s Health Programs are embedded in FQHCs to bring care directly into underserved communities. Locations include Genesis Community Health Center in Boynton Beach; BCOM Broward Community & Family Health Centers in Hollywood; and FoundCare/Yolette Bonnet Center in West Palm Beach.

Each site features state-of-the-art 3D mammography equipment and advanced AI technology from industry leader Hologic, along with on-site diagnostic and ultrasounds, cervical screenings, treatment (LEEP and colposcopy), and navigation services to guide women from screening through diagnosis and care.

The expansion was marked by remarks from Susan G. Komen and Promise Fund Founder Nancy G. Brinker, along with U.S. Congresswomen Lois Frankel, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, and Florida Lieutenant Governor Jay Collins.

“Through our pilot program at FoundCare in Palm Springs, we’ve already seen a remarkable increase in screenings,” said Brinker. “. We’ve proven this model works, and now we’re taking it to scale. We can and must do everything in our power to ensure no woman dies simply because she lacked access to care. That has always been our mission—and our promise.”

In addition to securing the equipment and funding necessary to provide the screenings in each of the locations, the Promise Fund has embedded each center with a Promise Fund Navigator who provides guided support to women throughout the process. Additional Promise Fund Navigators will be meeting women where they are – from churches and schools to community events and food drives – to provide education on the importance of screening and early detection.

ABOUT PROMISE FUND

Promise Fund’s mission is to increase survivorship from breast and cervical cancer by providing guided support and access to screenings, as well as early detection, treatment, and beyond.  They reach tens of thousands of women in Palm Beach, Broward and Martin Counties.  The organization, founded in 2018 by Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker, has created a model which gives every woman the opportunity to obtain healthcare regardless of who she is, where she lives, or her level of income.  That’s their promise.

To date, through education and outreach, Promise Fund has engaged more than 66,000 women in South Florida, including nearly 20,000 women who have been screened and 249 women who have received cancer treatment.

Pace Center for Girls Palm Beach Unveils Transformative New Resources for Girls at Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies

These two renovations are designed to meet girls’ essential needs and inspire self-expression through media and the arts

Palm Springs, FL (September 5, 2025) – Pace Center for Girls Palm Beach celebrated two special renovations that support the expansion of services at its second-chance school for girls and young women in Palm Beach County—thanks to a generous $12,500 contribution from Cleveland Clinic Florida. Today, Pace Palm Beach hosted ribbon-cutting ceremonies at its campus, located at 1640 South Congress Avenue in Palm Springs, FL. The event unveiled The Posh Shop–a welcoming boutique where girls can shop for clothes, shoes, accessories, and learn laundry skills with a new washing and drying machine—and The Creation Station, a creative media space designed by Khanna House Studios for podcasting, art, music, video production, journalism, and more. The Palm Springs council members, the Central Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce, and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County joined the celebration.

The ribbon-cutting ceremonies were a way to highlight the enhancement of Pace Palm Beach’s supportive services for girls and young women in the county. The event included tours of the newly renovated spaces on its campus. The Posh Shop was designed to help meet the basic needs of students by providing access to clothing, shoes, and personal hygiene knowledge for girls, with hopes of fostering confidence and removing barriers to learning. The Creation Station was designed as a safe and inspiring environment where girls can build communication skills, explore their creativity, and find their voice through the arts.

“At Pace Palm Beach, we believe that every girl deserves the opportunity to thrive. The Posh Shop and Creation Station are more than just new spaces; they are symbols of empowerment, dignity, and hope,” shared Mindy Hanken, Executive Director of Pace Center for Girls Palm Beach. “By removing barriers and creating safe, inspiring environments, we’re helping our girls build confidence and express themselves. We’re so grateful to Cleveland Clinic Florida for their generous donation and our community supporters who helped make this vision a reality.”

With the launch of these two new initiatives, Pace Palm Beach continues to strengthen its mission of providing girls and young women with the tools, support, and opportunities they need to succeed. By addressing both basic needs and creative expression, The Posh Shop and The Creation Station exemplify Pace’s holistic approach to education and personal growth. Made possible through the generous sponsorship of Cleveland Clinic Florida, these spaces reflect the power of partnership in creating meaningful and lasting impact. As Pace Palm Beach expands its reach in the community, these two additions serve as a testament to what’s achievable when organizations come together to invest in the potential of every girl.
