West Palm Beach, FL – (February 24, 2025) –Ironhorse Community Annual Charity Golf Tournament is scheduled for March 21, 2025, at The Preserve at Ironhorse Country Club in West Palm Beach to benefit Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope (CAHH)- The Dr. Roy Cacciaguida Angel Fund.
The 8th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at The Preserve at Ironhorse Country Club will kick off at 7:15 a.m. with breakfast and registration. The tournament will begin with a scramble start at 8:30 a.m. After an exciting day on the course, participants will be treated to a lavish lunch and an awards ceremony.
On the eve of the Golf Tournament, March 20, there will be a cocktail reception and silent auction for golfers and friends of the organization. Proceeds will assist CAHH, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of local children, women and men, and their families who are touched by cancer by providing need-based financial assistance, information resources, and access to services and support groups in our community.

Additionally, two $48,000 Merit Grants were awarded to Busch Wildlife Sanctuary (for the Rehabilitation Flight Cages for Large Birds) and Take Stock in Children Palm Beach County (for the Program Expansion in Central and Northern Palm Beach County). Proceeds from a 50/50 cash raffle will benefit the Wounded Veterans Relief Fund. Wounded Veterans Relief Fund exists to provide emergency financial support to qualified disabled veterans living in Florida. Firefighters on a Mission is helping firefighters’ families with muscular dystrophy and selling raffles. The Rise FC Soccer Club, which is a club for Leave No Kid Behind, will also benefit by helping provide scholarships for underprivileged kids so they can play soccer.

JUPITER, Fla. (Feb. 24, 2025) –Florida Atlantic University’s Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute will celebrate advancements in brain science and health with its annual “Brainy Days” events throughout the month of March.
“Brainy Days” includes free community events and educational lectures with world-renowned experts to promote brain health, share neuroscience discoveries, and reduce the stigma associated with brain disorders. This year’s activities includes the official opening on Monday, March 10, of the David and Lynn Nicholson Center for Neurodegenerative Disease Research, a multidisciplinary hub for accelerating bench-to-bedside treatments for patients living with conditions like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
“Florida Atlantic University has gained considerable momentum in the area of neurodegenerative disease research through investigation and innovation across multiple colleges and institutes,” said Randy D. Blakely, Ph.D., David J. S. Nicholson Distinguished Professor in Neuroscience, executive director of the Brain Institute, and professor of biomedical science at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine. “By formalizing this work into a center, we can leverage it to be greater than the sum of its parts.”
Sir John Hardy, Ph.D., a world-renowned scientist and faculty member from University College London whose breakthrough research has been foundational to current Alzheimer’s disease research, will be the keynote speaker for center opening.
Additional signature events during “Brainy Days” include the return of “Brain Sparks!” an event for the whole family produced in partnership with the Cox Science Center and Aquarium; a guest lecture from Michael D. Burton, Ph.D., an expert in the brain mechanics behind pain; and a special presentation by Dr. Andrew B. Newberg, Florida Atlantic’s MRI medical director, at the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach.

Approximately 600 artists took over the streets of LWB to paint their magnificent original works of art as well as reproductions.
Thousands of visitors came to enjoy this free annual festival which included the artworks, live entertainment and some wonderful food under bright blue skies.

(M3F) continues its winter/spring Coffee Talk series with two upcoming free and informative sessions designed to empower individuals and caregivers with essential knowledge on safety and well-being. These Coffee Talks are free, but registration is required at m3f.org/events.
On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, Tiffany DiPanni, founder of Social Savvy Seniors, will lead “Preventing Online and Phone Scams” at Tropical Sands Christian Church in Palm Beach Gardens. With scammers increasingly targeting older adults through deceptive phone calls, emails, and online schemes, this session will equip attendees with the tools to recognize scams, protect themselves from fraud, and take action if they suspect fraudulent activity.

Then, on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, Jennifer De Gruccio from the Parkinson’s Foundation will present “The Parkinson’s Foundation Hospital Safety” at Tropical Sands Christian Church. Hospital visits can be overwhelming for Parkinson’s patients and their families, and this session will cover crucial information on advocating for proper medication management, effective communication with healthcare providers, and strategies to ensure the best possible care.
