The Feast will create memorable moments to share like whizzing down an oversized slide, climbing a rock wall, and even bungy jumping! Don’t miss bringing the kids to get their faces painted, pop balloons and shoot some hoops! Step up, win a prize, and watch them smile!

Charity:

Get into the ‘holiday spirit’ as the Feast serves as the launch for the Little Smiles Toy Drive! Little Smiles, the official charity of the Feast of Little Italy, will be on site raising awareness about their mission, hosting fun activities and welcoming new, unwrapped toys. This is a volunteer driven, non-profit 501c3 children’s charity. Their mission is to help heal hearts and create little smiles by providing gifts and fun activities to children impacted by serious illness, homelessness or tragedy. With the guidance of local professionals such as doctors, nurses, child life specialists and social workers, together we strive to help kids escape their unfortunate circumstances, even if only for a short period of time.

About the Feast of Little Italy:
It began 16 years ago with a dream and a vision to create an experience rich in Italian culture to share. With family tradition and values at the core of its mission, the Feast continues to serve as the signature event that brings together generations in a celebration of marked contributions by great Italians. Through food, music, art and history, over the three-day-festival, we remain steadfast to encouraging the importance of bringing together the community, rooted in the importance of family. We remain dedicated to staying mindful about the hardships that our ancestors endured in migration to this great country and proud of our Italian-American heritage.

Halloween Travel with Michael Myers

Travel with Terri

Story by Terri Marshall

Remember the first Halloween movie? I watched it at the theater with my first husband just days after we were married. I’ve never recovered. Yes, I realize it was 1978 and I should be over it by now…but I’m not. It only takes a few notes of the movie’s theme music to send a chill up my spine.

Although there are plenty of terrifying horror movie characters capable of making my skin crawl, the knife-wielding Michael Myers of Halloween is the one that terrifies me most. My talented photographer daughter knows this and when October rolls around, she takes full advantage of my fear. All month I awake to a new photo of Michael joining me on my travel adventures. He’s the worst kind of stalker. I don’t know what I did to her as a child to make her this evil. Although I have been known to send her photos of clowns in retaliation.

Rather than keeping all of this “fun” to myself, I thought I’d share it with all of you this October. You’re welcome.
