  • Enjoy an unforgettable four-hour snorkeling experience for ten people this summer onboard the Keylypso catamaran. Captain Gary and his crew will give you all the equipment and instructions you need. Transportation to and from your house to the Lake Park Marina will be provided by Palm Beach Executive Services, and Toojay’s will provide a delicious box lunch. You just bring the swimsuit and suntan lotion, and tons of fun is guaranteed!
  • Do you know what a fried egg is? A slice? A gimme? Be sure to ask top PGA professional Kellie Stenzel as she gives you and five friends a one-hour golf lesson at the Palm Beach Par 3 Golf Course. Golf crazies wait months to get a lesson from Stenzel, and now you can get one hour of her coaching to share (or not). Included in this package is a $100 gift certificate to Al Fresco restaurant, right there at the Par 3 course, to enjoy lunch afterwards.
  • Steal a weekend away from the kids at The Omphoy Ocean Resort & Spa in Palm Beach. The amazing hotel keeps the Atlantic Ocean close to heart, and is a true retreat for mind and body.
  • A two-hour trip around the world, right here at home – at the Palm Beach Zoo! If you like wildlife and continent hopping (without the jetlag), this experience is for you. The first stop is North America, where you will have the opportunity to feed two adult male black bears. Next, you will travel to Asia, where you will walk among giants – the Zoo’s Aldabra tortoises. You will be able to feed them, bathe them and give them some welcome neck scratches! Next, it’s on to Africa to have your picture taken with the servals of the savanna — these aren’t your ordinary house cats! There will be a quick stop in Australia to meet a lovable dingo, and then on to South America, where you will hand-feed the largest species of rodent – the capybara sisters! This amazing tour package is expected to take two hours, and is offered for a group of one to six people, ages 10 and up.

Proceeds from “Do at the Zoo” will help the Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society to advance its mission of inspiring people to act on behalf of wildlife and the natural world. The Zoo is home to more than 800 animals, and is nationally accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums.

April, 2014 – A New Junk Adventure

Lake Worth Couple Takes On New Junk Adventure

A couple years ago, Dave Archer was on a jet headed to London for his company’s annual corporate meeting.  A marketing executive with more than thirty years experience, Archer served as Vice President for a global medical technology business. But last year all that changed when he traded in boardrooms for living rooms.  Today you’ll more likely find him on a bright red junk truck!

Dave and Toni Archer.
Dave and Toni Archer.

Archer and his wife, Toni, recently purchased a Junk King franchise and set up shop in Lake Worth, Florida.  The couple, who have been married for over 40 years, were looking to take on a new adventure.  They had been splitting time between Memphis, Tennessee and Lake Worth and were ready to be permanently back in Florida.  Archer knew it was time to start his own business in the place they’ve called home for the last 11 years.

After researching many options, Archer decided on the junk removal company called Junk King.  It was Junk King’s commitment to customer service and detail that sold the former marketing executive. He appreciated a company that identified its brand as customer-driven and eco-friendly.  He knew that whatever business he brought to his town had to be the best in its field.  Junk King of Palm Beach opened for business in 2013.  Toted as “America’s best junk removal and hauling service,” Junk King will remove junk and provide peace of mind.  The junk haulers strive for excellence with every interaction.  Every employee wears a uniform, maintains a professional attitude and stays until the job is done.  “Simply put, we want to be the best at what we do.” says Archer.

Archer’s wife helps run the back end of the business.  Toni Archer formerly worked as a preschool teacher.  She, too, is enjoying her new role.  “The skill sets are really transferable,” says Mrs. Archer.  “I help with organization, relationship management and educating our customers.  The only difference is my audience is a little older!”

Junk King of Palm Beach is located in Lake Worth.  The junk removers will take just about anything and everything from your property.  From electronics, to concrete pavers, to hot tub removals to estate cleanouts, Junk King will do it all.  “The goal,” says Archer, “is to make junk removal easier, eco-friendly and cost effective.”

Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Spamalot hilariously though not-so-accurately retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people.

Did we mention a bevy of beautiful show girls?

Children with Cancer to be Honored, Remembered, and Celebrated at West Palm Beach CureSearch Walk

Friends, Supporters, Survivors, and Families Raise Funds for Critical Children’s Cancer Research

The West Palm Beach CureSearch Walk on May 17, 2014 at Meyer Amphitheatre will bring together the local community to celebrate and honor the 42 children diagnosed with cancer every day. Funds raised at the CureSearch Walk will help fund research that accelerates the cure for children with the greatest risk of losing their battle with cancer.

During this unique event’s opening ceremony, survivors will be called to the stage to state their name and receive a medal, while those who lost their battle will be remembered during a memorial ceremony.  After the opening ceremony, survivors, supporters, families, friends, and medical professionals will walk for approximately a mile and a half before returning for the closing ceremonies.

This year’s walk is sponsored by St. Mary’s MedicalCenter and Palm Beach Children’s Hospital and Titan Florida, both silver level sponsors. The West Palm Beach CureSearch Walk has a goal of $38,000 to reach through the efforts of fundraising, donations and event sponsorship. To help reach this goal, please sign-up as a participant or donate to the walk at www.CureSearchWalk.org/WestPalmBeach To be a part of the event committee or give donated items/services to the walk, please contact Community Development Manager, Betsy Langan at Betsy.Langan@CureSearch.org.

Every day 42 children are diagnosed with cancer. Children’s cancer affects all ethnic, gender, and socio-economic groups equally and is the leading cause of death by disease in children.  During the last 25 years the overall survival rate for children’s cancer has increased from 40% to nearly 90%, but for many rare cancers, cure rates remain unchanged. Furthermore, the number of diagnosed cases annually has not declined in nearly 20 years.

“At CureSearch, we are committed to changing the odds for children most at risk for losing their battle with cancer.  We know that the 15,500 infants, children, and adolescents diagnosed with cancer each year deserve new and better treatments, faster than at a pace of 2 in 25 years,” says Laura Thrall, president and CEO of  CureSearch for Children’s Cancer. “That is why we fund novel research and support clinical trials at hospitals across the country.  We’re fighting for the future every child deserves and every parent dreams of”.

Join the CureSearch Walk at Meyer Amphitheatre or at any one of our 60 Walks across the country and become part of a highly visible, incredibly powerful team fighting courageously for a cure.
