The Palm Beach County Black Chamber of Commerce held the 12th Annual Ascension Awards Program Dinner, on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM EST at the Palm Beach Convention Center. The evening’s program was filled with captivating experiences, including a sophisticated cocktail reception, a sumptuous dinner, and electrifying musical performances by the Lake Worth High School Drumline and Jazz Ensemble, and the renowned saxophonist Al Johnson. The highlight of the event was the announcement of the 2024 Ascension Award recipients, recognizing individuals and entities that have ascended to greatness in their respective fields.

This American supercar is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The exterior features a unique Alan Mann Red livery and exposed carbon-fiber components, including the wheels, front splitter, side sills, mirrors, engine louvers and rear diffuser. The interior includes Alcantara-wrapped seats with gold and red accent stitching, an instrument panel wrapped in Ebony leather and Alcantara, and Ebony Alcantara pillars, headliner and steering wheel.
Also crossing the block with No Reserve in Palm Beach is a one-of-one Tailor Made 2022 Ferrari SF90 Spider modeled after the 1957 Ferrari 625 TRC chassis #0672, the winningest car in Ferrari racing history. Producing 986 horsepower, this hybrid supercar is powered by its twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 engine e4WD PHEV, which achieves a top speed of 211 mph and is backed by an 8-speed F1 dual-clutch transmission. This one-of-one car is finished in Argento Nürburgring 101/C with three Bianco White livery circles across the hood and doors featuring number 11 in honor of the 1957 Ferrari 625 TRC chassis #0672.

On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, POST (Pediatric Oncology Support Team) will honor these incredible individuals, mothers, during their annual luncheon beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Mirasol Country Club.
The luncheon will feature POST cancer patient, Deneilia Bennett, while raising crucial funding to provide basic necessities such as gas, groceries, utilities, and more, for families with children in the fight for their life. The organization was created in 1998 so that no family would have to walk a child’s cancer journey alone. Since its inception, POST has awarded more than $1.5 million to more than 2,300 families across Palm Beach County and Treasure Coast.
“POST was created because children get cancer too,” shared Barbara Abernathy, founder of POST “It is a situation no family wants to be in, but with the support, they can focus on the fight ahead and not whether they have enough gas to get to treatment.”
Honorary chair of the event is Lisa Glasband, a longtime supporter who volunteers herself to aid the organization in its growth and fundraising goals to assist in aiding even more families each year.
Added Abernathy, “This is going to be a very special event. Mothers helping mothers is what this is all about. Mothers lean on each other in good times and in tough times. This luncheon is a symbol of strength and togetherness that we are very much looking forward to.”

Garden Explorers Summer Camp offers science-based fun and nature experiences, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 3 pm, July 15-19 and July 22-26.
“Eco-conscious and green-leaning kids can register for one of both of these weeklong camps because each one will offer something new and different,” promises Mounts Interim Co-Director Misty Stoller. “Activities will take place both outside and indoor, so campers will have access to a cool, dry space in the event of excessive heat or rain.”
Each of the two camp sessions will be limited to 30 participants and will offer a variety of fun and informative experiences:

Campers will gain a better understanding of the natural world around them and learn how they can contribute positively to the environment.

Week 2: July 22-26, 2024 – Energy

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (March 27, 2024): Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League takes care of hundreds of animals at any given time, and now that it is “Kitten Season,” the leading animal organization in Palm Beach County is sharing the importance of TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) as an effective solution to help control the population of outdoor cats.
During the spring and summer months, female outdoor cats experience their breeding cycle, resulting in litters of kittens. This phase is known as “Kitten Season,” and it lasts for more than half of the year. Female cats that roam freely outdoors can sometimes give birth to multiple litters in one season, which can put a significant strain on the time, money, and resources required for around-the-clock care. To address this issue, there’s a program called TNVR, which stands for Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Return. In this program, community cats are humanely trapped, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and then released back to their outdoor homes.
“TNVR is an extremely effective method,” explained Alyssa Dazza, Admissions & TNVR Manager, “It works by immediately stabilizing the cat colony’s size by eliminating new litters. This reduces nuisance behaviors such as yowling, fighting, and marking territories with urine. Returning the cat to its original location prevents new intact cats from moving in and restarting the cycle of overpopulation. As a result, it helps reduce the number of kittens and cats flowing into local shelters, which in turn lowers euthanasia rates and increases the adoption of cats already in animal shelters.”
Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League offers residents of Palm Beach County free trap loans with a refundable deposit during our hours of operation for TNVR. Peggy Adams loaned out over 1,800 humane traps in 2023 and has a goal of 2,000 in 2024.
