Monthly Breakfast Networking Meeting

This is an invitation to a networking meeting Thursday, January 19th, from 7:30-8:45 AM. We meet on a Thursday each month sometimes the third, sometimes the fourth so you can always check if you don’t hear from me. 561-762-1667

We are meeting in West Palm Beach at The Crexent Business Center Office Conference Room. It is in the Vista Commerce Center off of Okeechobee Blvd just West of the Turnpike. Actual address is 2101 Vista Parkway. This is a new location this month and should be fun. Just come in and go straight ahead to the office suites lobby and the conference room is off to the right.

You can find us on www.meetup.com as well. Everybody should check that out for other great groups as well or even start your own if you have a particular interest or topic.

We socialize and have coffee and a bite to eat until about 8am. Then there is a conference call with Fran Tarkenton (former NFL quarterback) for about 15 minutes and then we get to introduce ourselves and talk about our business a little bit. Very informative. Bring cards, flyers, coupons etc.

No charge for the meeting. Not one person specific so come one come all!

Bring another business owner that could benefit from the exposure.

Appreciate your time. Please call with questions.

PALMS WEST COMMUNITY FOUNDATION’S

2012 WOMEN IN BUSINESS SERIES

PRESENTS “LUNCH WITH KATHERINE BELLISSIMO”

SPONSORED BY IBERIABANK

The Palms West Community Foundation is pleased to announce the kick-off the 2012 Women in Business series, sponsored by IBERIRIABANK, on Wednesday, January 18, starting at 12:00 noon.  The first luncheon of the 2012 Women in Business series, will feature Katherine Bellissimo as the speaker, and will be sponsored, by White Horse Tavern and FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival.  Katherine Bellissimo, and her husband Mark, are two of the original Principles of the Wellington Equestrian Partners—the group that, since 2005, have been developing and growing the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington into the world-famous event and equestrian center that it has become.

The luncheon will be on Wednesday, January 18, in the Wellington Club at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center located at 3401 Equestrian Club Road in Wellington (Spectator Entrance) beginning at 12:00 noon.  The Wellington Club is a private room that is overlooking the main arena of the Equestrian Center , and as an added treat, the riders and their horses will be performing that day!  As another added surprise, there is even a chance that one of the female Olympic riders, depending on her training schedule, might be able to join us for lunch and to share her career experiences!

Katherine Bellissimo will share with the crowd her experiences in the interesting and intriguing equestrian world, and how she has been able to balance her career demands with her personal life and family.  She and Mark have been true working partners, as they have grown Wellington ’s equestrian community through the expansion of the scope of the Winter Equestrian Festival.  But, in the meantime, Katherine has also focused on developing outreach programs to benefit the surrounding community…all the while making time for her family which includes four children!

This luncheon, catered by White Horse Tavern, is not one to miss, and is sure to be a sold-out event!  The cost for the luncheon is $25.00 for Palms West Chamber members and $35.00 for non-chamber members.  Reservations for this event are requested by noon on Monday, January16th, and it is a pre-paid event.  For reservations, please go to www.palmswest.com, and click on the Women in Business icon on the right-hand side.  Or, you can call Maureen Gross at the Palms West Chamber office—(561)790-6200.

Synopsis:

Six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn’t everything and that losing doesn’t necessarily make you a loser.

History:

THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE started as a non-musical play entitled C-R-E-P-U-S-C-U-L-E, done by the improvisational group “The Farm.” One of the performers in the play, Sarah Saltzberg, happened to be the nanny of playwright Wendy Wasserstein (The Heidi Chronicles). Wasserstein was impressed by what she saw and suggested to friend William Finn (MAKE ME A SONG) that he may be able to take the show to the next level. Finn, his former student Rachel Sheinkin, and C-R-E-P-U-S-C-U-L-E creator Rebecca Feldman worked together to turn the piece into a full-length musical.

In the winter of 2004, THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE had a workshop at Barrington Stage Company in Sheffield, Massachusetts. The following summer, the show had its first full production, in a cafeteria turned theatre.

From there, THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE moved to Off-Broadway’s Second Stage Theatre, where it quickly sold out its original stay and was extended due to glowing reviews and powerful word of mouth. The show broke box office records at Second Stage and moved to Broadway’s Circle in the Square on April 15, 2005 with an official opening on May 2nd. The show again received rave reviews and won two 2005 Tony Awards for Best Book of a Musical and Best Featured Actor.
