Palm Beach County, April 8, 2024 – YWCA of Palm Beach County proudly accepted a proclamation on April 2nd, declaring April 2024 as "Until Justice Just Is Month". In attendance were YWCA’s CEO Shea Spencer, Until Justice Just Is Chair Dr. Teresa Johnson, Board Chair Marcelle Griffith Burke, and other members of the Board of Directors.
"Until Justice Just Is" is a nationwide campaign advocating for equity in all aspects of human life. At its core, the objective is to raise awareness regarding systemic inequities that perpetuate injustice and foster collaborative partnerships aimed at implementing change within those systems. In alignment with this year's theme, "Building the Next Generation of Equity Among Youth," YWCA of Palm Beach County is organizing a special luncheon on April 26th at the Palm Beach Gardens Marriott.
The April 26th luncheon will provide a platform for Palm Beach County's youth to share their experiences and discuss their unmet needs. The event will also feature a fireside chat, bringing together esteemed community leaders to discuss strategies for advancing equity and justice. Joining the fireside chat are Dr. James Green, Director of Community Services for Palm Beach County; Dr. Debra Robinson, former Palm Beach County School Board Member; Coach Cassandra Rahming, renowned girls' basketball coach at Palm Beach Lakes High School and member of the PBC Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2024; and Marsha Guthrie, President of Marshalling Impact. During the luncheon YWCA, will also announce the recipient of the annual Dorothy Height Social Justice Award, recognizing an individual or organization who has demonstrated exemplary commitment to social justice and equity.
YWCA of Palm Beach County invites all members of the community to join in this important conversation and take meaningful action towards building a more just and equitable future for all. “Until Justice Just Is” is supported by JP Morgan & Chase Co.; FAU Christine E.
