Armory Art Center set to re-open campus June 29th with a colorful ‘palette’ of course offerings, for a ‘Summer Art Experience’ to remember!

June 1, 2020 – West Palm Beach, Fla. – he Armory Art Center is pleased to announce the expansion of its ‘Summer Art Experience 2020’ with exciting, in-person courses, added to its vast, unique array of virtual ones, with the (limited) re-opening of its campus to ‘campers’ on June 29th. The packed program, designed with weekly themes and engaging, age-appropriate activities invites young artists to create, learn and get social through August 7th.
The exciting array of in-person courses for both kids and adults will take place at the Armory Art Center, 811 Park Place, in West Palm Beach.

The community is invited to make art, make friends and make the Armory Art Center the place for Summer Camp with in-person courses available on campus and virtual! In-person courses for junior artists and teens start June 29th with courses offered in digital media, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, costume design. The Armory’s all-new KinderArt course, for kids aged 4-5, will not be offered live and in-person; it will remain virtual for families to enjoy in the comfort of their homes.
Adult artists, from novice to expert – are invited to join in the creative summertime fun, with a variety of hands-on courses set to begin in-person, at the Armory on July 6th.
The Armory Art Center ensures its dedication to following CDC guidelines regarding sanitation, temperature checks, masks and social distancing measures in place, keeping safety at the forefront of its nonprofit service. Its galleries will remain closed until a later date, to be determined. No classes will be held on Friday, July 3rd.
“We are so very pleased to once again open our doors and invite our artist community of talented instructors and students back to the Armory,” said Tom Pearson, executive director of the Armory Art Center. “This summer is exploding with creativity, and with choices to get involved with us in-person, or virtually – we are excited to remain an integral part.”
Armory Art Center’s Summer Art Experience 2020 provides highly dedicated and talented faculty, staff, and young artists in an environment focused on the exchange of artistic skills, ideas, and process. All Armory classes are taught by highly-qualified, experienced, and diverse art educators with a wealth of experience and backgrounds in the field; most have a master’s degree in art and/or education, and all have cleared a background check. Each course was carefully created to facilitate free expression and encourage learning.
Week-long sessions in June offer artists hands-on exploration of various creative, diverse techniques, and opportunities to sharpen skills and tap into new interests. Courses offered in the Armory’s in-person, and virtual studios throughout the summer, include the new program KinderArt for children 4 – 5 years old (virtual courses once a week only); and drawing, jewelry making, painting, digital media, and more for junior artists, teens, and adults.
Exciting weekly themes for junior artists – aged 6-11 include: “Wonderful Wizards & Unicorns,” “Gaming Geeks,” “Mad Scientists Meet Art,” “Buggin’ Out,” and more! Participants are encouraged to register for as many weeks as desired; $20 discount provided for multiple enrollments within immediate families, or for one camper over multiple weeks.
