SECOND ANNUAL “A MAGICAL NIGHT TO FIGHT HUNGER” TO BENEFIT PALM BEACH COUNTY FOOD BANK
Downtown at the Gardens spotlights local hunger needs during Hunger Action Month through al fresco three-course dinner
(Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) – The Palm Beach County Food Bank is teaming up with Downtown at the Gardens for the second annual “A Magical Night to Fight Hunger” on Thursday, September 26th at 6 p.m.
In honor of September’s Hunger Action Month and to help the Food Bank further its mission, Downtown at the Gardens is hosting a three-course dinner under the stars to raise awareness and funding for hungry Palm Beach County residents.
The Palm Beach County Food Bank collects, recovers and distributes food to local soup kitchens, food pantries and homeless shelters. According to Food Bank Executive Director Karen Erren, last year more than 200 local community partners helped to distribute 5.2 million pounds of usable and nutritious food.
“We need continued support from events like ‘A Magical Night to Fight Hunger’ to enable us to reach more hungry children, seniors and families who often don’t know where they will get their next meal,” said Erren. “We are so grateful to partner with Downtown at the Gardens once again.”
In addition to dinner, guests will experience a magical performance, musical entertainment and other fun surprises. For the month of September, Downtown at the Gardens is holding a food drive, as well as donating a portion of proceeds from its carousel rides to the Palm Beach County Food Bank.
“Our corporate philanthropic initiative continues to focus on hunger,” said Erin Devlin, Shopping Center Marketing Manager for ShopCore Properties, the owner/managing entity for Downtown at the Gardens. “We are thrilled to join forces with the Palm Beach County Food Bank to call attention to our hungry neighbors and help support the more than 100,000 residents the Food Bank serves each month.”
Tickets for a “Magical Night to Fight Hunger” are $75 per person and must be purchased by September 14th. To reserve tickets, please visit pbcfoodbank.org/DATG.
