On Thursday, Sept. 22 at 7:30 pm, Lynn University celebrates Hispanic Heritage
Month by presenting Guatemalan pianists Alfonso Hernández and Carlos Fernando
Jr. Medina Romero in VITRINA PIANISTICA – a Guatemalan Piano Music Showcase
featuring solo piano works by Guatemalan composers Castillo, Sarmientos, Beteta,
Marroquín, and Herrarte and Martínez-Sobral’s gem for duo piano entitled
“Guatemalan Watercolors”. The concert will take place in the Amarnick-Goldstein
Concert Hall on the Lynn University campus at 3601 N. Military Trail in Boca Raton,

Alfonso Hernández made his debut with the National Symphony Orchestra of
Guatemala at age 12, has performed in renowned music festivals and is pursuing
his doctorate at the University of Maryland. Hernández is an alumnus of the Lynn
University Conservatory of Music. Jr. Medina is a prize-winning pianist and is
currently enrolled in the Professional Performance Certificate program at Lynn
University.
